A former East Bay college philosophy professor who was charged with four counts of felony assault with a deadly weapon, causing great bodily injury, has taken a deal resulting in three years of probation for an attack at a Berkeley protest last year, court records reveal.

Wednesday, Clanton was supposed to have had his preliminary hearing, where a judge decides whether there's enough evidence in a case for it to move ahead to trial. Instead, there was no hearing, and information about Clanton's plea deal became available online.

Oh, com’on ya’ll, this is just a common just sentence in Californication for felony assault with a deadly weapon. Nothing to see here.

(I wonder if it would been different if he were sentenced and attacked in prison ? Nah, that’s only for “extreme right wing !” perps in the Californicate.)

Makes one wonder what a normal individual has to do to get justice in the Peoples Republic of California?

Someone should remind him of the history of the Clanton Gang.

I hope his victims can at least sue his @ss in civil court.

That’s what I would do.

Isn’t Clapton a bit old for this sort of thing?

I assume this means that he entered a “guilty” plea, to something.

He pleaded no contest to simple battery.

I’m sure Kamela Harris would have opened a special investigation were she still ACLUafornia AG into a clear case of civil rights and hate crime violations.

Oh wait.. She’s moved onto bigger and better huh?

Real justice would have had him locked up for at least a year for assault with intent to commit bodily harm on seven individuals etc - but here we have a perfect example of social justice - attacks on less than human specimens by someone of the morally-superior elite class for well-motivated purposes - calls for no more than a warning so remind the perp not to get caught next time.....

I know nothing about this particular case but after seeing some of the “Antifa” terrorists in Berkeley, and the weapons used, like the “umbrella” with a flexible shaft with a large bolt’s nut on the end, I am for taking violent measures against these thugs. A wicked tool that inflicts huge damage to ones body and these thugs are using it indiscriminately against random targets!

The masks must go. I suggest shooting a masked thug on sight.

Probation? It is California, putrid in most respects!

The prosecutor and judge who allowed this POS to get away with assault will have blood on their hands if the attacker goes on to kill someone. It has been shown that he attacked at least seven people on April 15th and attacked others during other protests. He is probably a sociopath who now feels emboldened. Hopefully his next victim fights back with lethal force.

I am saddened to hear that he turned to a life of violence. Maybe it was Jack Bruce's death.

One of the funniest things I ever read was one of the Letters from the Editors in National Lampoon:

Sirs:

I meant to write "Clapton is good." Sorry for any confusion.
