When I was around that age - probably more around 8 or 9 years old - I was in a grocery store with my mother and in the checkout line, I slipped a candy bar and a pack of gum into my pants pocket while my mother was busy with the checkout girl.

It was the one and only time I ever did that. Once we made it home, my mom caught me with the gum and asked me where I got it. I knew better than to lie so I told her.

All I can say is getting tasered in the store would have been preferable to the whipping I got from both my mother and father! Then I had to go back to the store with my father and apologize to the store manager as my father paid him for what I took.

I don't think that kind of parenting exists all that much anymore.

I’ve got an 11 year old

On the surface seems pretty excessive

I’d like to see her pic

There are rare behemoths who are way over fed at that age

That’s the long shot of rationalization

Maybe she pushed the cop down

Then he could have shot here and Freeper applause could have been deafening

Lol

Actually some here would applaud

First time I noticed freeper love of folks dying or being hurt for being stupid was when the cop shot and parayzed a 13 year old who had joyridden. Motor grader or pan

He couldn’t stop because the shots had paralyzed him

The cop who shot him was distraught

Freepers were having keyboard Os and high fiving

It’s the nature of most forums.....people want to seem hard

Please enjoy

I’ve been astounded at views here on occasion for 18 years now

Things ebb and flow here

Tweak this situation a hair and they’d be browbeating the cop

“Your entire argument revolves around the supposition that (1) the kid was stealing food, (2) because she was hungry.”

You’re right. Maybe she stole a DVD from the gift section. Juice up the cattle prod!

Like I said most people find tasing young children distasteful. It’s just not a good thing. It’s improper behavior. It goes against the fabric of our culture. It’s also unnecessary. Discharging 1200 volts of electricity into a 90 pound kid is a really poor idea.

Kids are a pain in the azz. That doesn’t mean they should be treated violently for a non violent crime. How did we ever manage to deal with kids shoplifting before tasers were invented? Are you starting to get the picture yet?

Well, the traditional method of dealing with a kid committing something which got the police involved, would have involved a thorough application of a leather belt across the butt. But I'm guessing you would not approve of that either.

For the case where mommy dearest is approving of, and instigating, the shoplifting, then I would be OK with Mommy getting the leather belt treatment instead, and then her dealing with the kid however she wanted, to avoid repeats.

Stealing one item is not a big deal. Multiple kids stealing multiple things on a frequent basis would likely put the store out of business eventually. So, how DO you deal with widespread theft? Other than shutting down?

Amen and amen. I can’t believe that grown men couldn’t do it. Even if one had to hold her arms and one had to sit on her legs. Anything other than what they did. For a conservative forum there should be a little more healthy caution against authority, especially cops. Lord knows so many allow that badge to go straight up to their heads.

I’ve read here that there are many solutions, but haven’t seen any particulars yet.

I think convicted shoplifters 16 and older should get the stocks for a day, convicted burglars should be caned and convicted murderer-thieves hung. Publicly, every Saturday at noon in city squares all around America. The ‘beginners’ get to see what happens should their criminality progress. Old school, I know, but I suspect it would significantly reduce crime.

Nobody said anything at all about sticks; fingers suffice and the human body is covered and filled with all kinds of different bacteria and germs; even ones that are well taken care of.

But then, your hysterical, lefty posts prove that you don't know much of anything about any topic.

There are quite a few different articles about this incident, not a one of them exactly the same. What’s supposedly factual in one, if then missing from most of the others.

Yes, t’is true; however, apparently many of the posters and the one who posted this thread, are lefty leaning ( at best), cop hating, SJWs who do NOT belong on this site and they don’t read the articles.

You're blind and stupid beyond words!

And obviously, YOU are a squish of a spineless SJW who doesn't belong here.

There is every reason to taser a shoplifting, feral, 11 year old, who has been shoplifting with a bunch of others, including her 9 year old sister, for days on end, at 11:00 PM at at night!

And just HOW did you want the cop to deal with this? What's your solution to crime and criminals? Pamper them?
