Federal authorities Thursday announced the arrest of 13 people they say were ringleaders in a massive scheme to exploit illegal immigrants as cheap labor on farms and Hispanic-oriented businesses in Minnesota and Nebraska.

They also carried out search warrants on 11 of the businesses Wednesday and nabbed 133 illegal immigrant workers they found at the time.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said they suspect some of the migrants were coerced into working in rough conditions, either by force or threats of being reported to authorities for deportation...

Seldom mentioned is that the crimes that ensnared the employers is not paying the 940 withholding taxes.

The employers withheld social security and Mediscam but didn’t forward them to the IRS.

Once the feds started looking it changed into an ICE raid.

Moral of the story - do NOT screw with the IRS or your local mafia.”””

Hate to correct you on this-—BUT-—

The 940 IRS form is an annual form. It is for Federal UNEMPLOYMENT taxes....taxes that are paid by the EMPLOYER-—NOT deducted from paychecks.

The form I think you might be referring to is the 941 form, which is usually filed quarterly.

Have been filling them out for over 38 years.

Yep, I was typing in a hurry and left it off.

Idea is the same - do not mess with the IRS.

Thanks!

Thanks for posting those businesses and names, FRiend.

From the looks of most names and some businesses looks to have a heavy Hispanic leaning.

Wrong on all counts. Are you able to comprehend basic facts on a subject or do you just blurt out what you want to hear?

You need therapy or something. Does it always make you hostile and angry when you are exposed as a liar? Is that your typical coping response?

I see you dispensing a lot of BS advice on therapy, both to myself and others. Perhaps YOU need to take a look in the mirror.

One can go to a local mid size grocery or similar outlet that has
money transfer facilities on a Thursday/Friday afternoon about 3pm
and see the workers coming in and cashing their checks. They get
some cash and the rest is wired to some other location.

Every time I look in the mirror I see a guy who has always been against illegal aliens.

You must see some freaky stuff when you do that.

I think the Catholic bishops have about expended all of their moral authority at this point, and I’m Catholic.

We're sick of the damn 'CHEAP LABOR EXPRESS' BRINGING 20 MILLION ILLEGALS TO OUR COUNTRY THEN WHINING THEY DON'T HAVE ANYONE TO PICK THE CHERRIES.

'Guest worker is a possibility but NOT if they sit off-season on welfare collecting food stamps. Guest worker for the season - then sent home.

Guest worker for the season - then sent home.

As I remember that was the way it was in the 50's/60's and maybe a little later, could be mistaken. That's exactly the way it should be now.

I would rather Americans do the jobs - hard work teaches responsibility and incentive (the incentive to do whatever it takes to get better work) for the young... AND it encourages industrialization and innovation. But short of that - of 'Americans doing what Americans do best' I'm ready to accept short-term agriculture guest workers.

Guest workers could pick the crops AND LEAVE - go home - right after the picking is done - or go onto another crop in a different region. Today's farmers bring in illegals to pick the crops then help them apply for welfare and food-stamps until the crops need picking again OR until the illegals find better paying jobs.

That's a nightmare for citizens forced to support wealthy farmers because step two is when the farmers bring in MORE illegals to replace the ones who got better jobs or vegged out on welfare.

It's nuts.

Our schools, hospitals, social service agencies, interstate systems, neighborhoods and culture are stressed to the breaking point so damn liberal ‘elites’ get cheap labor and new voters. It's got to stop and Trump's the only person who can do it... everyone else is too deep into 'donors'... and corruption.
