The thing about the poor: Unless THEY do work their position in the economic strata remains fixed. If you give them all one million dollars the value of those dollars plummets.
This is a nice list of existing programs to help poor people.
I’ve wondered, with this universal basic income idea — is it intended to replace existing public assistance programs, or is it to be paid, above and beyond, and in addition to, all of the existing social safety net programs?
Unless these people work for the city, they shouldn’t.
If he really wanted to help he would pay for their ammo. They go through A LOT of it around there.
So will these 1000 families have to show up and vote in elections or will the city council do that for them as well?
In other news, 1,000 families rent was increased by $500 because they can afford it now.”””
OR—the drug dealers prices just went up.
How many will lose their Section 8 housing??
That calculates out to $500,000 a MONTH. That is $6 MILLION a year.
How about spending that $$$ on more police officers & a court system that actually PUNISHES the Chicago criminals. ???
UNTIL the people in the black community learn that NOT telling the Police Officers what they witnessed in criminal activity, Chicago & other predominately black communities will continue to spiral down.
Cops cannot be everywhere. They don’t have a crystal ball. IF you have criminals on your streets & you don’t help get them OFF the streets, YOU are just as GUILTY s they are.
You are AIDING & ABETTING criminal activity. Every minute of every day.
Provide incentives for bad decisions.
DR PHIL’s mantra:
YOU NEVER REWARD BAD BEHAVIOR.........
so, as an experiment, what’s the hypothesis and what are the expected outcomes?
Pretty much the pack up and leave is past tense.
They will be pissed at tax time when the 6,000 is missing. Watch!!!!
The $500 will be used to buy more ammunition and new guns.
47th Ward Ald. Ameya Pawars resolution said the money would "help working people and families become more resilient to day-to-day financial emergencies, are able to make rent, cover childcare, and put food on the table."
..."other than the working people and families who we're going to clip with higher taxes to subsidize them, because, let's face it, those receiving the money don't really work, and oh yeah, they can't be called 'working families' because it's clear that whatever they're doing, it isn't working." Thanks Sub-Driver. November is a Referendum on the Obamanation.
IT’S NOT UNIVERSAL BASIC INCOME IF ONLY THE POOR GET IT... THAT’S CALLED WELFARE.
LOL - not when it's government taking the money...
