She ran on responsible gun regulation, now she's accused of killing her campaign treasurer

ATLANTA - A former Georgia Congressional candidate has been charged with murder after her former campaign treasurer was found dead inside her apartment.

Kellie Collins, of Thomason, turned herself into the McDuffie County Sheriff’s Office just as authorities in Aiken County, South Carolina found the body of Curtis Cain, Collins’ former campaign treasurer.

Investigators said Cain did not show up for work on Tuesday, so deputies went to his home to check on him. That’s when they found him dead from an apparent gunshot wound.

The coroner said the body had been there for at least four days.

Authorities said Cain’s Subaru Legacy was also missing.

Collins has been charged with grand larceny in addition to murder.

In 2017, Collins ran as a Democrat against incumbent Rep. Jody Hice, a Republican, for Georgia’s 10th District. She ultimately dropped out of the race, citing personal reasons.

During the race, she touted her support for responsible gun regulation to protect the community.

There is no “Thomason” GA, there was no congressional race in 2017 in GA 10 but this guy is really dead.

The article is unintelligible.

It describes the male victim as having been shot in ‘her’ apartment. Later, it states he was found dead in his home.

Which is it?

She was right! We need protection. From her.

Subaru legacy, one of the Left’s official vehicles.

Niteowl77 and I joke about being "stealth lesbians" because of our Subarus. To be honest, we avoided - maybe ignored is more accurate - the things for years because they were the butt (!) of so many jokes.

They do attract the crazies to some degree, though the locals here who are REALLY loons (the types with stickers that leapfrog lefttard and go right to the tipping point of insane) are usually not driving Subies, but some other SUV... Hyundais, Kias and Fords seem to predominate. We see relatively few such psychological warning labels on Hondas or Toyotas, even when they happen to be Priuses... which makes us wonder if that the Prius is simply just as popular with gas-miserly tightwads as it is with eco-nuts.

(At least in this area.)

One of the area's resident self-proclaimed wiccans drives a Chevy. That sort of thing makes for lousy memes.

There is a Thomson Georgia, and there was a congressional race in 2017. The primary election was held in May of this year. This nut dropped out of the race in July of 2017.

I actually like Subarus (no apostrophe here) but I would not be seen in one or even touching one, same way I once felt about Volvos.

I feel the same way, only I have absolutely no problem with being seen in one, and I currently own a very nice Outback which is a pleasure to drive and promises many miles of trouble-free ownership. I don't use cars, or any other product, to make political statements. And if I need to advertise my politics, the lack of bumper stickers should attend to that.

So, was she a lawyer? Another report said that she was recently made the sole beneficiary on his life insurance policy.

I suppose it could be both.

We must remember here before disparaging Subarus, those cars are biult and owned for love. Subarus are sold on the basis of emorional appeal and love

Doesn't really matter to me. I am happy to have them pay a premium for a Prius. It leaves just more gas for me and my truck.

Yes, she shouldn’t be arrested for shining a light on the evils of guns
..She should be posthumously given an Obama Metal of Freedom!
