Two things. He knew it was illegal and they don’t give the “little people” a break.

Ridiculous law unless you killed the eagle to get the feather. That was what people were doing and then claiming they "found" the feathers or bones.
Which is why the law was written that way.
Since the eagles are no longer endangered the law probably should be done away with.

Now you just made me watch half hour of old Carlin on Jimmy Dean and Flip Wilson.
Too bad Carlin later became such a nasty vile piece of work.

I lived in Southeast Alaska for 25 years and if you really want to see a Bald Eagle, go to the local landfill. They are there by the hundreds, especially in the winter.
Before statehood in 1959, the entire region was pretty much run by the salmon canneries and their fish traps. There was a two dollar bounty on our national bird until 1952 - some guys would climb up to a nest in the spring and grab the newborn eaglets for some quick cash.

I’m sure Cuomo has Native American heritage. He just hasn’t claimed it yet. Probably related to Fauxcahontas.
To: jazusamo
He has to make amends. Dousing himself with kerosene and lighting a match would do it.

Almost fifty years ago I was given an eagle feather from his grandfather’s bonnet by a dear friend whom I considered a brother. He told me it would always protect me. He was a fullblooded Eastern Cherokee. Woe be anyone who would try to take it away from me!

Cuomo included, probably dont know about it. Ignorance is no excuse for the law. The IRS will also tell you this.
Lock his sorry ass up.

That really is too bad.
I did the same thing you did -- I watched a couple other of his routines I saw there. (Did you see the one called "Baseball vs Football"?)
To: Songcraft
No. Not that one.
I was a big Carlin fan as a kid, 70’s.

His story is a fabrication anyway. He’s full of it.

An old snowbird I know found an eagle feather and stuck it in his hat. He didn’t really think about it until in the airport. A native American walked up to him and in a challenging way said; “Cherokee, Oklahoma”, he just looked at him and named a tribe from Montana. The guy nodded his head and walked on.
Needless to say, he got rid of the feather.
