Also takes him out of the jurisdiction of the Inspector General of the Dept. of Justice (Horowitz).

Maybe another shoe to drop and now Strzok is not available for questioning.

My guess is that with 22 years of service at age 48, he is vested in his pension, but not fully vested as in getting 100% benefit. Also, he is not eligible to start collecting same. I don’t know if the Feds still do this, but it used to be the “Rule of 85” where any combination of your age and years of service that equalled 85 allowed you to take full pension benefits. Strzok only has an aggregate 70, so he’s 15 years short.

Just a little red meat for the GOP base here. Meanwhile, FBI/DOJ stonewalling will continue unabated with Sleepy Sessions asleep at the wheel.

“A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague.” - Cicero

It’s been suggested that the reason he was kept on so long was that he was a cooperating witness. And now that they have gotten as much from him as they could, he’s out.

So true. History has shown this many times, and Barry O was the catalyst behind this latest attempt that still continues.

Thank you, I appreciate it.

If being fired for cause stands, do you know if he’ll collect any retirement at all?

“Maybe after Trump called Sessions “scared” and “missing in action,” he decided to show he was still alive?”

That was my thought also.

A Federal Judge has no such authority.

All a federal judge can do is say if an action is legal or not.

Interesting comment on WSJ:

just now

All you had to do was watch the hearings with his smirks, smiles, and in general crazy faces to know this guy couldn't be more full of s--t if he were a cesspool.

It is about time he got fired but it isn't enough to fire these guys and let them live the rest of their lives as pundits on CNN, MSNBC, book tours or speakers at colleges. If you really want to drain the swamp these people must be prosecuted. Otherwise what is the harm. Lois Lerner, Comey, McCabe, Strzok, I am sure Ohr along with resignations of people such as Page and others is ridiculous. It is time to give the DOJ IG prosecutorial powers and bring these people to justice.

“so why now then?”

My guess is that he was kept on the books until after he testified to Congress.

The testimony, and the firing, were likely timed as part of a program of events, leading up to the elections in November.

I’m guessing that there will be a string of testimony (Bruce Ohr up next), firings (Bruce Ohr up next?), document releases, and probably indictments leading up to the election.

Something extra juicy would likely be saved for late October. We still have all the leak investigations underway, and the full list of payments for Congressional sexual harassment has not been released yet. Democrats are an embarrassment of riches, as far as potential scandal goes.

The Dems will predictably roll out their usual last minute smears. Gloria Allred and her daughter Lisa Bloom will come out with women alleging sexual misconduct against Republicans (which will all vaporize right after the election). Robert Mueller will roll out some kind of media fodder.

But the scandals that will be dropping on the Dems will be real, and that gives them a bit of an advantage this season.

Wouldn’t surprise anyone would it? But you gotta feel sorry for the little feller. He thought he had a premium Deep State Insurance Policy, and that it would guarantee that President Trump would never be able to MAGA. But like the rest of us when we actually have to use an insurance policy, things end up not being covered that we thought they would honor.

Of Course...there is always CNN & MSNBC & NBC & CBS & ABC.

However those are privately owned, so not as bad as paying this rogue from tax payer dime for rest of his life.
