shhhhh !
You are a real Debbie downer.
At least you can mow your lawn. Except for about a week, mine has been a literal swamp all summer long. I wouldn’t be surprised to see fish swimming in there one of these days.
I admit - I’m just whining. There’s a lot worse flooding going on out there from the looks of it.
Thanks tomkat....called a friend who lives near Bloomsburg pa and they got it too.....also muncy pa and Benton ...small communities but hit hard.
And yes it these rain bands from the south....we seem to only get the edge of them out here in Western Pa...but enough to see rain frequently passing through.
I am familiar with Tunkhannock.....use to boat at Harvey’s lake. Fun time!
I’m just sick about my hometown being shut off with this flooding.....and more coming in tonight. Rt 6 and rt 14 shut down.....can’t get in or out.
Be ever so careful..this is bad as there’s more rain coming tonight......
this is the alley behind the stores
There’s a time and place for posting that stuff...this isn’t it...my home town is underwater and I don’t care to be inundated with this stuff when people are in danger there....and it’s not over yet. ‘Think’ before you post.

What a cheerful person you are!
Wow. How awful for you all. You and family high and dry?
Oh my. I’m praying.
Yep....they just declared my home town a disaster area....and it’s not even over yet...
I’m not living there, I’m in Western Pa....but I have a sister and brother IL there who are fine....they sit high and dry but the cornfield below them is all gone under water. They said downtown got hit really hard and it’s been all closed up street wise etc.
I watched a video of the waters raging behind the stores......never say anything as that when I lived there.
Prayers for those folks. We were on a road trip and got off the freeway to take a back road. Looking for local eats and a more scenic drive. The diner and the Dairy Queen had been wiped out by a flood in the narrow river bottom - West Virgina. They were still moving piles of mud out of one of the lanes of the road.
We ended up at a local church where they had a bunch of supplies for the locals and organizing the recovery. Several folks had died as well. (We did get some food - the pastor and his helpers gave us some hotdogs that they were cooking up for the volunteers!)
We gave them a decent donation. It was really amazing to see this small church (also flooded) organize things. They had a big pole barn on higher ground that they cleaned out first, and had all sorts of supplies that were coming in stored there (food, clothing, cleaning supplies, etc.)
The pastor pointed out group of trees about a foot in diameter. About 30 feet up they were all broken off. “So the water came down off the hill in that little gully up there across the road. (Rocky road cut that made a cliff). Water came shooting out of that gully and over the top of the road - and sheared those trees of way up there!” I’m guessing the trees were 40 feet from the edge of the cliff on the other side of the road!
Thanks! We need prayers here! I am high up on a hill, but all around me is awful destruction.
