In the early 2000s, an Australian reporter looked into the wind turbine programs in the SW US.

Many of the turbines that were getting rebates sat, in unopened crates, unused, not installed, and not generating so much as a milliwatt.

Where the turbines could be erected was out in the boonies, with no local demand for any power, not to mention a notable lack of power line infrastructure to carry any useful amount to where there was demand.

But the "owners" were still getting paid on per turbine basis.

Windmills do exactly what they were meant to do, make certain politically connected persons rich. It was never a serious energy option.

The same with battery operated vehicles.

"Windmills are an idiotic wast of money and I have to believe nothing good will one from the slaughter of hundreds of thousands of birds every month."

My pharmacist is doing research on lyme disease and ticks. He has come to the conclusion that there are more ticks now because of global warming. I kindly pointed out to him that perhaps windmills are killing birds who may munch on ticks. His eyes went wide open and his jaw dropped. He said that he hadn't considered that and he will have to research on that. Conversation eneded there since I had killed his globull warming theory.

I love Trump that he is so level headed. I am thrilled with joy that he brought up the truth about windmills and coal.

Speaking of coal. I'm clearing my dirt driveway of grass. Things got out of hand the past few years. Anyway, as I pull up the grass and top soil,I find the original driveway of rocks. Among those rocks are pieces of coal. Oh joy!

And they’re ugly and scary looking. Nothing uglier than driving along and seeing a windmill farm. Looks unnatural and creepy.

Wind turbines have these problems:

1. They are eyesores.
2. Break down frequently.
3. Generate a lot of audible noise.
4. Can often interfere with RF signals.
5. A major hazard to any bird flying nearby.

In short, they make solar power look more viable in comparison.

windmills were useless if the wind was not blowing
= = =

When the wind gets real strong, the windmills are ‘idled’.

Hmmm. I would think this was a chance for a LOT of energy.

Windmills and solar are just two sides of the same useless coin. Windmills kill birds by the thousands and solar kills them by making them think they are landing on water. Some even fry them in mid-flight.
And all so some liberal can feel good about himself.
And none of them are economically feasible and all need funds from the government.

They managed to get the vast wind farms, here in Illinois red nav beacons to all flash in perfect unison.

Truly a sight to behold, like a multi billion dollar art project.

Two kinds of power generation that I know of, baseline and peaking.

Where these bird killing, tax payer sucking monstrosities fit I can’t imagine.

Tear them down and build clean quiet nukes with the scrap.

Wind generators are the “Three Little Bears” of an electric grid.
They cannot generate when there is no wind or too much wind.
Cannot generate when too hot or too cold.
They shut down with freezing rain.
They want it just right.
