“I think I know why he is losing support.”

What makes you think he is losing support?

Completely wrong. Trump is gaining support not losing it. Gop-E is trying to distance itself from Trump and losing because of it. As this article indicates, Trump voters are NOT showing up to vote for the GOPe candidates.

This is a complete failure by the GOPE that Trump, who is running around campaigning like mad is about the only thing keeping it from being much much worse.

Total GOpe garbage. Blame Trump for their rabid incompetence.

Trump voters are NOT showing up to vote for the GOPe. That is pointed out by how poorly GOPE candidate are doing in Trump solid districts. Trump is running around campaigning like mad. It is the ONLY thing keeping it from being much worse

“Trump isn’t Presidential enough” garbage is the last dying gasp of the pathetic losers in the Never Trump movement who blame EVERYONE else for their complete political idiocy and incompetence.

I agreed with some of amihow's written sentiments to the following degree:

"IF DJT has it in him (and I've begun to believe that he does not) ..... he has to become a great deal more adult in his reactions to people and circumstances. If not his "magic" may disappear quickly and in an ugly fashion for the country.

But your generic question is what makes me see Trump losing support. Just let me say ....... I can feel it, even in myself. I am nearly daily disappointed in his somewhat childish and coarse reactions, reactions that ARE TOTALLY UNNECESSARY.

I know his opponents are relentlessly wailing on him with lies after lies, treacheries every day. I can't believe he can stand it.

But he doesn't need to be so childish all the time...... calling people sophomoric names, etc. (jmo)

What you say is rather simple thinking.

Most of it is true, but he can react to people without sounding like a hurt child.

And I am no 'Never Trumper'. My wife and I gave him a pretty large donation for his election (we had never donated to an election in our lives until DJT).

So direct your innuendo for those who need it.

Actually look at the data don’t just repeat what Karl Rove. and the rest of the GOPE drones pretending to be “movement conservative”” scream at you daily.

The “GOPE Consultant” class are the same set of idiots that thought McCain, Romney and Jeb were “great candidates”. They are a massive part of the GOPE’s problem

“But he doesn’t need to be so childish all the time.”

I understand your concern, but I think you will continue to be pleasantly surprised by the outcome. Here’s why:

There are various dishonest debate tactics that are considered acceptable today, and go unchallenged, yet 100 years ago would have been considered dishonorable, and would have been challenged.

In general, these tactics are rooted in logical fallacies, and since modern man is no longer educated in critical thinking, we are mostly at the mercy of clever Leftists and their propaganda ministry, the MSM.

As an example, let’s say your spouse prefers that you had one less cocktail with dinner and instead of simply saying that, she suggests you are an alcoholic. Let’s say you deny the allegation, and provide your drinking statistics along with your research regarding the accepted definition of alcoholism. Let’s say she counters your reasonable and scientific argument with the charge that by denying you are an alcoholic, you have proven you are an alcoholic, because alcoholics deny they are alcoholics.

Now, that last argument is dishonorable, full of fallacies, and a hundred years ago it would have been dismissed out of hand. Today, such tactics win the day, because nobody is intellectually equipped to challenge them.

Other famous tactics include calling someone “defensive” for defending themselves, or “paranoid”, “suspicious” or “threatened” for being wary of a potential threat. The problem with these characterizations is that there ARE threats - people ARE out to harm other people - there IS very real danger in the world. If the Left can make defending ones self appear to be paranoid, or make arguing appear to be “combative”, etc. they can effectively disarm us by putting a pejorative connotation on our behavior when we challenge their attacks. Of course they do this - this is what they do, and it’s called political correctness.

The Left will spin our desire for border security as racism. The Left will spin our desire for self defense as vigilanteism. The left will spin our desire to lock our doors as paranoia. The Left will spin our desire to protect our property as “hoarding”. They will attack us from all directions 24/7 and anything we do to resist, they will characterize in some negative way, in order to disarm us.

This is what is being done to Donald Trump. They insult him night and day in the most vile ways, and when he responds in kind, they call him childish, unpresidential. Well isn’t that convenient for them that fighting back is “unpresidential”? GWB never fought back - how did that work out for him?

Trump is right to tweet exactly the way he is tweeting, for two reasons:

1) Someone needs to push back against the Left - they can’t be allowed to land blow after blow while conservatives stand there and behave in a gentlemanly manner.

2) The American people have been brainwashed by the Left into accepting the Left’s rules of behavior and style regarding what is politically correct. I think people consider Trump’s tweets to be childish because the Left said so, and we need to reclaim our right to speak plainly (like a child?) and call a liar a liar, and call a crook crooked, and call a very low IQ individual just that - a very low IQ individual.

I say let Trump be Trump - keep tweeting Mr President. Thanks to President Trump, after a couple years we’ll all become re-accustomed to plain speech - calling a spade a spade - and it won’t sound so out of place.

He knows what he’s doing - he’s doing us a great service - he’s reasserting our ability to speak plainly (politically incorrectly). He’s reclaiming parts of the English language that the Left declared taboo. It’s not that he is saying anything so terrible - we’re just not used to hearing it.

Look, me and my friends and our wives went out for dinner Friday - you wouldn’t believe some of the off color jokes - and we are normal decent folks - all laughing at things that if a POTUS ever said them, OMG!!

We are conditioned to think certain things are ungentlemanly or unpresitdential - but we must remember the Left has control of the airwaves and the public schools - they have conditioned us with an idea of political correctness that suits their purposes. They can use it to discredit their opposition - Trump is doing an end run - he is discrediting their hold over political correctness. They no longer get to say what is “correct” or “incorrect”.

Every time Trump tweets something incorrect - that’s a win.

This Trump voter and Trump supporter agrees with both of you.

Dignified behavior goes hand in glove with perceived responsibility and self control; and even though our President is correct on so very many things, he can loose mid-term votes (critical ones) if he does not appear to be patient and wise. Optics count a such great deal among voters who may stay current with the news.

(Yes, there is a much higher standard for GOPers and Conservatives; and yes, the fake media are on perpetual attack. We acknowledge this unfair situation.)

Something we’ve seen over and over is if the press and the DNC can make it a massive push, so, single election or focused on small election set, they can lie and pour in massive money. The Republicans have no way to counter the massive amount of press coverage that equates to a dramatic in-kind donation to the DNCC and the DNC candidates.

When the press is so hyper-focused on a single district race, it’s like they’ve poured millions, if not more in direct campaign contributions.

When they have to spread themselves and can’t 24X7 smear the conservative, they lose.

November is going to be brutal. I seriously consider the most dangerous day of the year the first Wednesday after the first Monday of 2018. (Day after election day.) That day will probably be the start of the Civil War.

Today, they released new polling data showing despite the attempted coup, despite the rabid hatred from the left (I would say, and the news, but I’d be repeating myself) that he’s at 50%. That’s not “losing support” but gaining. Sorry.

Great, great, great, great post! I just read the whole thing out loud to my wife. She even turned off her old "Columbo" rerun to listen to your words.

Your posts are always so wise and positive.

Thank you for your excellent perspective and your fine ability to convey it.

You should read a little more carefully.

I NEVER said that he IS losing popularity.

However, I DID SAY there is that possibility if he doesn't try to control his whims a bit. Some people (Democrats and Independents especially) may not be so understanding and patient when November shows up

Understand?

Personally I still believe in his goodness and magic.

"Balderdon is full blown COC Cheap Labor Express thst is fully backed by K-Sick and Tiberi. Balderson barely won the GOP primary after running tons of negative ads against the real conservative backed by Jim Jordan. So anyone thinking this has anything to do with Trump’s popularity in the 12th District does not live there and is a nevertrumper or libtard. Trump’s rally, which Jordan attended, but that RINOs chestnuts out of the fire the COC, K-Sick and Tiberi built in the 12th district."

Thanks for that.

I’m flattered!

Columbo was such a great show.

I love the way he played dumb and innocent, but he would catch the guilty party off guard by blurting out some unexpected rhetorical question out of the blue. He let the suspect think he was stupid, clumsy and lacking in manners.

Sometimes I think the President’s tweets are very Columbo-like.

Democrats had 87% turnout, vs 40% GOP, and still barely managed a tie. Max GOP turnout on Nov will crush them.

No problem. I was just curious. In Ohio each county's board of elections has both a democrat and republican at the top. If there was hanky panky, which ever side was trying to pull it off would be screaming bloody murder.

Ohio's republican secretary of state has also weighed in. http://www.dispatch.com/news/20180813/jon-husted-enough-is-enough-on-rumors-about-12th-district-election
