It's primary election Day In Minnesota!
All summer long the Republicans and Democrats have been slugging it out statewide to see who'll represent their party in November. Depending on where you live, you may have a contested primary for state rep. I do in House District 55A (Shakopee), a southwestern metro suburb. It's been a somewhat bitter affair as there's an attempt to oust a two-term GOP rep who's voted with the Dems a few too many times for his own good.
I'm voting for Tim Pawlenty for Governor. Yeah, I'm not terribly impressed with him but he stands a better chance of getting elected in November than the endorsed candidate (Jeff Johnson) does.
Any Minnesota Freepers (or other Freepers) wanna chime in on the primary election?

Im headed out to vote now. I give them crap every time they dont ask me for my ID. I appreciate them volunteering their time to be election judges, etc, but still....WAY too much voter fraud going on! And lately mty district looks more like Somalia than Minnesota.

Got to laugh that the DFL candidates are all adding anti trump rhetoric to their ads. Hillary won MN in 2016 by only single digits...razor thin for a liberal state and other than a few metro counties MN was completely red in 2016. The DFL has some great candidates..Keith Ellison, recently accused of domestic abuse and who has no current law license running for AG, a Somali woman who married her brother in a scam to get to the US running for the Legislature and Erin Murphy whose ads advocate single payer healthcare running for Governor with loony toon Dayton’s endorsement. There is even talk of Franken running again. Politics in MN looks like the bar scene from Star Wars

Have the problems the immigrants have brought shifted Minnesota toward sanity any?
How likely is it that the sane will prevail?
I was the ONLY person at the polling place when I went to vote. A couple of the judges were having a dispute over the number of ballots that had been put into the computer....then said “We will fix it when these folks are done” (meaning after I leave) Time will tell, but I am not naive enough to think that MN has any fair elections anymore.

From what little I’ve been able to discern, it sounds like the Dem’s are really turning out in the core cities of Minneapolis/St Paul as well as the first ring suburbs.
I think that’s a good thing. It means the really nutty liberals (as opposed to the nutty liberals) are turning out for Erin Murphy for Governor and Keith Ellison for AG. There are no guarantees of course but having both of them on top of the ticket helps the GOP in November.
Connecticut has a primary today, too..
