The dominant marketplace remains the unregulated.
Regulated pot sales die this fall when the personal grows are harvested, 6 plants for each adult, up to two adults per household.
It will be AT LEAST 1 million pounds of trimmed buds. And that's just the private legal harvest.
Dave’s not here.
I knew they would screw even this up :P
Is there anything that California CANT screw up?
It just shows that everything the government does turns to shite.
Uhh.....cool!....Now.....ummm....what’d you say?
There needs to be a national system for legal marijuana asap.
I don’t use it, but I’m sure it’s confusing just what is allowed. There shouldn’t be such a guessing game about it.
If certain states or cities do not want to deal with marijuana in any way, then that should be known nationally.
I’ve heard many with prescriptions for their ailments or their children’s ailments are having a very difficult time obtaining what they need. I’ve heard that it really helps cancer patients with pain management or with developing an appetite to eat after a chemo treatment.
Legal weed is not such a good idea with the strong strains they have now . Add in the greed of politicians looking at tax windfalls and the stoned populace is more easily manipulated IMHO. Decriminalization is a logical step because it would take away huge costs via the courts and probation etc... Just my two cents .
A very strong dose for most normal adults is 100mg of hi-test bud, smoked.
That’s ~280 strong doses per ounce.
4,500 strong doses per pound.
At least 4.5 billion strong doses will be produced in California’s backyards, legally, this year.
Grandma and Grandpa are coming to visit for Christmas and they’re bringing California Sunshine with them.
New CA law: Every CA resident is REQUIRED To purchase at least 3 oz of pot every 6 months.
No different than the rest of the dictatorial laws they have
Now there's a great job opportunity - home pot deliveries in the inner city. You think the Domino's guys have it tough...

The cartels, unencumbered by bureaucracy, have created a very efficient supply and distribution system. Something the central planners can learn from.
Prices have collapsed
as it attempts to transform what was once a largely illegal market into a multibillion-dollar, regulated economy.
Fools.

I know of 7 counties in California where you can legally buy pot seeds or seedlings. The requirements for a grow in my county is it must be outside in a locked greenhouse. Meaning just about zero legal grows; anyone who has a locked greenhouse is producing far in excess of the six legal plants. Additionally, you have to get a permit, register your address, etc, etc, etc - mind you, these records would make it illegal for any firearms to be possessed at that address. (presence of narcotics, a violation of federal law...)
Since regulated pot sales are nearly flat since the first day, I’d expect they’d continue to be nearly flat when the ‘harvest’ comes in. The few who are legally growing at home aren’t going to the regulated pot sellers in the first place.
I think this article is making a mountain out of a mole hill. I’ve visited a number of pot shops over the last couple of months (looking for pure CBD actually), and there’s plenty of buds at all of them. The supply chain is going to be inherently funky until it’s legalized on the federal level, but it’s working pretty well. The reason that illicit hasn’t been eliminated yes is both because of parts of the supply chain are still illegal, and as a result the price hasn’t dropped very far yet.
As another poster pointed out, when harvest time comes, many will have their fill for the season. What then for the commercial producers?
A bale of hay weighs perhaps forty or fifty pounds and costs about $10. Pot may be a little harder to grow, but the per ounce cost will certainly end up at less than $10. I pity anybody who thinks they are going to get rich growing a "weed".
Huh? Nevermind, just pass the Doritos.
Its all about edibles
Trust me
Smoking is stupid
Edibles are a planet saver
There was no concentrated effort at central planning or regulating, except among a few hopeless greedy tax-collectors.
As you stated, the personal growers make the market almost unnecessary.
Unlike tobacco, booze which have all types of economic scale problems in processing, cannabis grows itself — the extra effort you place in has rewards in quality, quantity, obviously but is really can be minimal.
In other words, no major steps in the process that act as an excuse for the government to come in and regulate.
This is Freedom.
That is why the government hates it and will lie endlessly.
See our ignorant, chicken-livered, pintsize backstabbing attorney general for one.
