Good luck with that Turkey
seriously ... who gives a rip what Turkey decides to exclude itself from buying ?
The US should pull out of Incilrik and any other bases we maintain there . Screw Turkey . Zero US tourism to that s#ithole country
Let’s see how Weirdogan and Putin get along
“Good luck with that Turkey”
Yeah, good luck to Erdogan preventing rebellion in Turkey when they can’t have affordable western stuff anymore. This will be fun to watch.
Good, leave for the home use.
Tariffs will hurt them a lot more than they’ll hurt us.
Oh Noes! The US economy will be on the skids. We depend SO MUCH on Turkey for our prosperity.
Erdogan, the ultimate jackass.
Turkey is about to get body slammed.
In 2017 the US sold roughly 10 billion to Turkey and finished the year about $350 million ahead. I couldn’t find any numbers for how much rent the US pays for Incerlik, but I’d wager it’s around $350 million.
Erdogan wants to be seen as powerful and making statements that the US must listen to. In reality, he has shot himself in the foot more often than not. He has created his own problems. There are at least five ethnic minorities that might fight for independence if the present Turkish state fails. The entire region could erupt into conflict. Turkey is, on paper, one of the most powerful countries in the region. But in a civil war, which to me seems increasingly likely, all that means is the weapons will be split among the rivals as the military disintegrates into its ethnic components. They need a leader like Ataturk. Instead, they got a leader like Hillary Clinton.
Erdogan was quoted as saying, “Democracy is like a bus you ride to the stop you want and then get off.”
...including cars, alcohol and tobacco...
Oh no! Not Turkish cars!!! And who doesn't rely on the booze supply from predominantly muzzie countries. I just hope Russia doesn't also retaliate, I'd hate to be deprived of Russian disk players and cell phones. And Venezuela could cut off the US from its supply of, uh, bitcoin. And Iran could stop shipping, uh, let's see... pistachios are grown in the US now... Thanks Eleutheria5.
