Christian baker vindicated by SCOTUS back in court for not baking a gender transitioning cake

The Christian baker who refused to bake a wedding cake for a same-sex couple and was vindicated by the Supreme Court earlier this year is mounting another legal challenge this week after refusing to bake a gender-transitioning cake. Shortly after the Supreme Court ruled in June that the Colorado Civil Rights Commission discriminated against baker Jack Phillips for his religious beliefs, an attorney requested he create a cake that was pink on the inside and blue on the outside to represent a gender transition from male to female. As a Christian, Mr. Phillips would not make the cake since it conflicted with his beliefs, which was his same reasoning for refusing to bake the same-sex couple’s wedding cake. The state of Colorado has come after Mr. Phillips again, suggesting state law requires him to bake the gender change cake. It’s the newest complaint mounted against him, which has forced Mr. Phillips to file a federal lawsuit Tuesday. “The state of Colorado is ignoring the message of the U.S. Supreme Court by continuing to single out Jack for punishment and to exhibit hostility toward his religious beliefs,” said Kristen Waggoner, an attorney with Alliance Defending Freedom, a religious liberty law firm defending Mr. Phillips.

Why not a “I’d be delighted to bake that cake for you! I’ve never don’t one of that type before, so there will be some charges for setup, developing the template, verifying the design, etc. $10,000 up front should cover the customizations you are requesting.”

So did I.

Reading it as an adult is completely different that when you are a HS teenager.

Different perspective...............

The problem was the SCOTUS decision he won was not on strict freedom of speech grounds. It was on the grounds that he was treated with prejudice by the state civil rights commission. I imagine the current case is a setup, with the civil rights commission now thinking they know how to handle the case to avoid what they were called on by SCOTUS.

Hopefully, if Kavanaugh gets in before his new case goes to SCOTUS, it won’t matter and we’ll get the religious freedom point settled.

Surprised no one beat the teeth out of that attorney's face.

Then it could drink its cake through a straw.....

How many bakers are within 100 miles of this guy? So they pick him just to screw with him. Evil bastards.

The baby Harp seal cure would put a stop to it - and it's coming to that...

“...which has forced Mr. Phillips to file a federal lawsuit Tuesday.”

I hope he wins hundreds of millions of dollars and forces the state to disband that commission. I’d like Hickenlooper, the Attorney General and the members of that commission to be personally liable, but that’s asking too much.

What happened to the <p>? Your excerpt has none (wall of text). The original article has six.

It, 1984, and several others, similar were on my HS reading list, supplied by my ‘right out of college’ English teacher. Very young and liberal, even for the 1970-72 time period...................

The CO Civil Rights Commission learned nothing after being bitch-slapped by SCOTUS?

Sick vindictive POS. This weenie chopper was put up to this by some deep pockets Soros type to have another go at the Baker and more importantly the Supreme Court whom left a huge opening in the previous decision. Kavanaugh can’t be confirmed fast enough.

It was indeed staged. Early in the excerpt we see that a certain attorney called to try to order this cake on the day that SCOTUS accepted the case.

The article below further notes that the same attorney keeps calling him to try to order cakes for Satan Worship &c.

I know this is an unpopular opinion around here, but all this crap needs to stop. So the guy wants a pink and blue cake, so what? Just bake it! If he was required to write some homo stuff on the cake, then perhaps he could refuse to do that.
Next thing you know we’ll all be refusing to do stuff for one another because I’m straight, you’re gay, he’s black, she’s asian, he’s a Christian, she’s wearing a scarf, he has a gold watch, I don’t like the look on her face... Where does it end? Huh?
What would Jesus do?

Sure they did.

They learned not to put their hatred of Christianity into their meeting minutes, and they learned what kind of ruling against the baker the USSC would accept.

Just watch. He's going to lose this time.

What would Jesus do?

Well, He would have at least a couple of options, using His own words and deeds.

He might fashion a whip out of cords and scourge the Civil Rights Commissioners.

More likely, in the instant case, he would tie a millstone around their necks and cast them into the depths of the sea.

It ends when vexatious litigants suffer penalties for their harassment and are forced to make only honest requests of one of any number of equivalent businesses. That directive is well within the bounds and history of current law.

I would hold the people who requested this cake accountable. They could have easily asked for a cake with pink and blue and left it at that. But noooooooooo.... they wanted to act like drama queens, make a statement and see what kind of money they could get out of it.

The baker shouldn’t even have to cite religious beliefs. He should cite a biology textbook...

If anyone had simply ordered a cake with this color combo, noone would care. It could have been a birthday cake for twins for all anybody knew. But the harrassers intentionally include the perversion so the baker is forced to create a work celebrating the depravity, or else.

They have a particular desire to corrupt a person's livelihood, to defile what a man does in order to receive a paycheck. That's because spiritually, a person's soul is connected to his livelihood. It is by what means he derives his sustenance, what keeps him alive so to speak.

That money pays the bills and is spent on gifts, vacations, hobbies... church, charity.

There's a certain type of soul who needs to filth all that up in order to drag everyone else down to its own level and blur the lines. As if judgment day is all about crafting appearances relative to someone else [who has been sullied by the plotter].

Dumb. All God has to do is turn on the garden hose to wash everyone down. Then it's obvious who is completely made of dung.

Watch the envronMentalists then try to cite God for polluting the watershed.

The mentally diseased have targeted this gentleman.

Since this is the second targeting, I suggest he file an ass-kicking counter suit, asking for at least treble damages plus some extra for mental anguish, etc. (what the libs usually use). Hurt these pricks in the wallet.
