If "need to know" is so sacrosanct, how is it that bozos who are no longer employed by the USA are holding security clearances? That doesn't happen to private contractors. When your contract is up, your clearance is deactivated. You are debriefed and warned of the penalties for revealing any classified information, and given a document to sign to this effect.

If the security of our nation is important, this should be the policy with Brennan, Comey, Hillary, everyone who is no longer working for Uncle Sam.

It never ceases to amaze me at how stupid and complicated the government makes things.

The minute government workers are off the payroll, all security clearances should be revoked 100%. Why the hell do Obama holdovers and never Trumpers have ANY security rights?

Sorry but your perception is incorrect as you are confusing CLEARANCE and ACCESS. Clearance is a level, access is the information.

When your contract is up your ACCESS is deactivated. You no longer have access to the information on the project. However, you still maintain you CLEARANCE for 2 years. This is by design. Security clearances are expensive. By allowing a person to maintain their clearance, they can then be hired for another contract or position without having to redo the clearance.
