Lyndon Johnson said the word “nigger” a lot.
In Senate cloakrooms and staff meetings, Johnson was practically a connoisseur of the word. According to Johnson biographer Robert Caro, Johnson would calibrate his pronunciations by region, using “nigra” with some southern legislators and “negra” with others. Discussing civil rights legislation with men like Mississippi Democrat James Eastland, who committed most of his life to defending white supremacy, he’d simply call it “the nigger bill.”
Then in 1957, Johnson would help get the “nigger bill” passed, known to most as the Civil Rights Act of 1957. With the 1964 Civil Rights Act and the 1965 Voting Rights Act, the segregationists would go to their graves knowing the cause they’d given their lives to had been betrayed, Frank Underwood style, by a man they believed to be one of their own. When Caro asked segregationist Georgia Democrat Herman Talmadge how he felt when Johnson, signing the Civil Rights Act, said ”we shall overcome,” Talmadge said “sick.” [snip] According to Caro, Robert Parker, Johnson’s sometime chauffer, described in his memoir Capitol Hill in Black and White a moment when Johnson asked Parker whether he’d prefer to be referred to by his name rather than “boy,” “nigger” or “chief.” When Parker said he would, Johnson grew angry and said, “As long as you are black, and you’re gonna be black till the day you die, no one’s gonna call you by your goddamn name. So no matter what you are called, nigger, you just let it roll off your back like water, and you’ll make it. Just pretend you’re a goddamn piece of furniture.”

Me too. He was a great deal-maker. But the deals he made... Between the Great Society and his conduct of the war.... horrible.

I put LBJ alongside FDR and Obama as the worst.

When it came to how he treated women, LBJ would make Clinton and anything Trump allegedly did look like the activity of choirboys by comparison.

When Olds came home it was to brief the President and the Joint Chiefs of Staff. His words with then President Lyndon B. Johnson were few, “Get us out of this GD war!”
When LBJ asked how, Olds replied, “It’s simple, sir - win it!”
LBJ was the ABSOLUTE worst POTUS ever, NO CONTEST!!! The damage he did to this country will NEVER be able to be undone!!! I DISPISE the man!!! Jimmy Carter was a bad POTUS, however he did NOT do lasting damage to the nation, he was just in way over his head and not smart enough to run the nation!!!
LBJ has destroyed more lives and families than any man who ever sat in the office.
Hoping some of my former friends see this...I think my posting on FB of this info a few years ago is why they unfriended me...in more ways than one...waiting for apologies..could be a long wait.
He was a Jackass and like the zer0,a Narcissistic POS.
One of the things that sticks with Me is him getting off a plane in Ellingtion and saying “my Air Force” looking out at the tarmac.
And after living in Central Texas he was about as bad as that POS byrd having to name everything for/about themselves.
