LBJ is the father of identity politics.
He has done more to destroy America than any other president up to Barack Obama.

One of his lines that I remember from some TV show was; Just when I learned to say Nee Ga Row, they went and changed it to Black.
And the blolack population as well.
LBJ had a clever idea to get blacks supporting the Democrat party. His Civil Rights act (unlike the civil rights acts the Republicans crafted) was garbage. Barry Goldwater — unlike LBJ == was not a racist, but it was Goldwater who was branded a bigot instead of LBJ because he refused to support LBJ’s rotten legislation.
My husband and I lived in an apartment complex right after we got married; one of our neighbors was a history teacher who taught at one of the private Chrostian schools in town. He was a strong Christian and one of the sweetest, nicest people you can imagine.
We were discussing history and the Vietnam war came up in the conversation and Lacy Bird Johnson’s name came up; when her name was mentioned the look on his face went from kind to absolute rage bordering on hatred; according to him, she owned a controlling interest in the company that made the body bags that were used to ship the bodies home.
My husband and I were shocked at the change in his demeanor.
He literally hissed that “she was evil”.
You walk up to ten black thugs at 1 AM, smiled at them, give each $1, and say you "n-ggers" have a good night." You will get your ass kicked and then they'll steal your wallet.

Johnson never believed in Civil Rights for blacks for one minute of his life. He fought the Republicans tooth and nail for over 20 years to keep Civil Rights for blacks from being passed. He only supported it when politically he saw the writing on the wall and was backed into a corner where he saw no choice but to support Civil Rights. It was a political move on his part and only politics, he never believed in it.
Of course that is when the mysterious and famous “party switch” took place and the Republicans somehow became racist and the Democrats became the party of the blacks. I still say the true racists are found on the left to this day.
I am stunned to see this from MSNBC...absolutely stunned. Someone has already been fired or something is going on behind the scenes that is bringing change...I can truly make no sense of them telling this. They are famous for spreading Democrat talking points, this is far from that as it gets.
Spot on. LBJ destroyed the black family and enslaved the wreckage with dependency on the federal government. Was that the intent?
He cannot be rehabilitated. Everybody hates him.
So long as being a "civil rights hero" means enslaving an entire race to handouts and killing a popular sitting President, why yes. Yes he was.
We will never recover from his years in office, he really did change America forever.
