I recently drove past that plant. It's HUGE. Size of a city. This will push Chicago Leftists into spontaneous combustion.

A few months back there were some serious supply issues with steel, some due to hoarding.

Always good to see more domestic steel production. The mills provide good paying jobs, they employ lots of swinging D's, and they require extensive tooling and equipment.

When Barry Soetoro was organizing that community, his efforts led to the shut down of that steel plant. Looks like the new community organizer is re-opening it. MAGA!

I want to be careful how I word this.

But, some liberal types, have been happy to see factories and industrial facilities shutting down. Among their reasons are that such facilities produce pollution.

They ignore the fact that great strides have been made, to reduce pollution from these facilities.

So it stands to reason, that with the liberal eco nazi focus on global warming and greenhouse gas and all that, that even the much cleaner industrial facilities of today, would still be objectionable to them, regardless of whatever economic benefit comes from them.

No nation can be great if it can’t produce its own steel.

The Gary Works was always the big dog on the block, but 50 - 70 years ago, the Chicago/East Chicago/Gary corner of Lake Michigan was replete with steel mills: Wisconsin Steel, Inland Steel, US Steel South Works, Acme Steel and Inland Steel are the ones I remember - and they’re long gone. Good to see that the Gary Works is still going strong.

"investing $750 million to revitalize its flagship Gary plant to gear up for increased demand"

That's a whole lot of local contract work. A whole lot. Yipee-Kai-Yay, Hans.
