Brook Falls in Katmai Park, AK. There is a viewing platform safely elevated for tourists to watch the bears feeding on salmon which is the point of view from which the video of the idiot was taken.
The man was part of a group of three people who NPS said entered a closed area of Katmai National Park & Preserve in Alaska earlier this month. Explore.org's popular Bear Cam captured the man as he waded into water knee-deep while five bears fed in the river nearby. After snapping his selfie, the man remained in the river for approximately 90 more seconds, taking photos and observing the bears before he returned to the shore.
It's not clear if the bears, who were feeding at the time, noticed the man.
People watching the webcam did notice the man, though, and they contacted park rangers to report his behavior. Rangers made contact with the man and are finalizing charges against the group, whose identities have not been released.

Somewhere around 5:00pm east coast time there are narrators on the bear came feed. All the bears are know by sight to the park service. The narrators call the scene like a baseball game.
“#128 is an older female, she sure likes that spot on the lip above the plunge pool and she has good fishing technique. Uh oh, that young bear moving her way appears to be challenging.
She’s distracted and it’s affecting her fishing
Meanhile, in the jacuzzi below here we see one of older males #454 catching his fill, at this point he’s just stripping the skin off and eating it and leaving the carcass to float downstream where the younger bears and other scavengers will consume it.
Looks our challenger to #128 on the lip has give up on his attemps to muscle the older bear out of her favorite spot and is moving off to another area......”

The only thing I can figure is that if he did get attacked, someone may have shot the bears while trying to rescue him.
I love this cam. I watch it every year now.

I'd think that a problem; of this MAGNITUDE; would eventually self correcting.
Easy answer.
If he DID get eaten; the bears would then realize there was MUCH slower 'food' up on that platform; thus becoming 'problem' bears that have to either be relocated or killed.

Error on my part, the bear announcers come on about 10:00pm east coast time.
Interesting. I wondered how they would track a guy if he did kill the idiot. So would they have to see the act, or see the bear with a lot of blood. What if the bear just whacks the dude and he drowns?
