Rep. Duncan Hunter and his wife, Margaret, were indicted Tuesday on charges related to the misuse of $250,000 worth of campaign funds for personal expenses and the filing of false campaign finance records.

The charges of wire fraud, falsifying records, campaign finance violations and conspiracy were the culmination of a Department of Justice investigation that has stretched for more than a year, during which the Republican congressman from California has maintained his innocence.

Republican Party leaders had long worried that with a potential indictment looming, Hunter's traditionally safe district which makes up much of eastern San Diego County could be at risk of Democratic takeover in November's midterm election.

DOJ is consistent regardless of which party is in control,; give the Democrats a pass and the Republicans the shaft.

Rush Limbaugh brought this sort of thing up a couple weeks ago. He talked about the Mark Foley episode in September 2006. Because of that one guy, the media and the Dems (I repeat myself) painted the whole party as corrupt and it cost the GOP the house.

And do not forget Hillary’s pork futures fortune.

That’s a classic payoff. The broker makes two trades, one short the other long. When one wins, they take it off and assign it to Hillary’s account. Repeat.

[All coordinated. You would have to be blind or flat out stupid or Democrat to not see all of this coming.]

There, slight adjustment.

“Cohen flipped all right, Unless I am missing something this sounds like the the keys for impeachment have been handed to the Rats.”

Yup. Handed to the rats or rinos...both chomping at the bit to impeach.

It’s the only thing Rip Van Sessions does well ... That, and going after ginseng growers - effing spineless simpleton that he is.

What's the old admonition..., "Don't be found in bed with a dead hooker or a live boy"? Even manufactured videotapes will do you in! What has Sessions got in his "Deep State" Dossier?

“Gee DOJ sure seems to like indicting repubs”

If they are elected officials and committed crimes, they should be indicted, tried and if convicted, imprisoned.

Yup, mid term is less than three months. Even with the speedy trial act, this could not be on the docket before Thanksgiving. Duncan get the August surprise in his reelection. BTW, is he on the ballot now?? Bet the commie state of Cal will not allow for a substitute.

Who is the USA in San Diego?? Adam Braverman, appointed by Jeff Session. This from the news: “ccording to the official, Senator Dianne Feinstein formed a committee to interview candidates for the U.S. Attorney’s job and conducted those interviews this summer.” He has not been confirmed by the senate under a law reserved for interim appointments like his.

One of the charges Michael Cohen pleaded guilty to was “Campaign Finance Fraud.”

According to Politico, Cohen told the judge he acted at the direction of Donald Trump.

Then it was with Trump's money, which is legal. Whereas, if Cohen were merely a Trump supporter and not his personal $35,000/month lawyer and agent, then $130,000 in October 2016 to shut Stormy up might possibly be found to be an illegal contribution.

A nondisclosure agreement is not a violation of a the campaign finance law. That is absurd. Cohen cop to a plea deal to get less charges somewhere else. The DOJ wants the false optics for places like CNN who can spout and will misconstrue the truth to their not so smart audience. Moreover, this can’t be cited in future cases since it didn’t go to trial and that it set no legal precedent.
