Not quite sure what role the Board of Regents has in this other than lamenting the death of one of its charges... and the trivia, IIRC that the perp’s employer used to sit on that Board.
The “Iowa Court of Opinion” will be remembering the demorats’ attempts to protect this murdering illegal alien when the elections AND the Iowa caucuses come around - (cue: Elizabeth Warren’s foot in mouth)...
It seems to me that the defense counsel is demanding that the court require the officers of the court put forward a lie. I don’t know what the “Iowa Regents”, role in determination of immigration status might be, but that responsibility solely rests with the Federal Government.
