The fact that they have become so open and fully admit in public they are socialists/communists and that socialism is their objective tells me we are already past the tipping point.
The establishment republicans still hold the power on the republican side and will do nothing to stop the movement to socialism.
The fact that many of the wealthiest capitalists are hard core democrats and also strongly support some or all of the liberal socialist agenda is another signal that we are past the tipping point.

For decades, socialists satisfied themselves with an insidious incrementalism that the nation found irresistible. When it looked like they’d be defeated, they gave ground like when Clinton signed off on welfare reform. He had Cloward and Piven standing behind him while he signed the legislation. That dog-whistled to the Left, “don’t worry, this is temporary.” And, the Left understood and continued voting Democrat. Their game was perfect and, had they stuck to it, there would have been death camps by now. But something happened starting with Carter. Their internal cohesion disintegrated. Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Casio-Cortez are the most noticeable symptoms. The Democrats of old would never have let them happen. By coming out of the socialist closet, they have alerted the rest of us to the real plan. I think the Democrats will get plastered in November. The pendulum is swinging back.
