” But I’d own the Caddie, especially the CTSV with it’s 755 hp. supercharged V8! Imagine taking some unsuspecting friends out to dinner in that sucker!”

On Rt 84 in Waterbury CT one night a guy in one of those decided he had had enough and took off like a bat out of hell .

The state cop in his standard issue Crown Vic reeled him in like a fish. From a dead standstill. And the caddy left a burn out for about 100 feet from about a 35mph launch.

I’d rather have the Crown Vic.

But either way, this is a bit off topic here. These kids may have been blocking the rear of the car, but that car going down the road was simply going too fast.

“These kids may have been blocking the rear of the car, but that car going down the road was simply going too fast.”

The driver of the car that killed these kids is toast! She was driving too fast to be able to stop before hitting them. When you hit another car from behind, as a matter of law, it’s your fault.

I have an F150 for sale with the 5.4L Triton engine

Have you changed the plugs yet? 100k

We gave the Expedition to our son after a couple of years.

He calls to ask if I had changed the plugs?

I said NO PROBLEM, bring it over and we will take care of them, he replied, better google it, the dealers want $700!!! More if the two-part plug comes unglued!

We took our time and did them in about eight hours.
He drove it another couple years no problem. Some bounce the plugs off the inside of the hood.

5.4L Triton two-part spark plugs, a bad idea. I hear they now are available in one piece $100 for 8.

Well! I drive my pickup to MAKE A STATEMENT!

(I’m still trying to figure out what it is, though)

All of these cars.. they are ridiculous.

Since 2017 back-up cameras are mandatory on all cars sold in the US. I’ve had more of these newer cars backing into me than ever before. Why ? Because the people are no longer trained or talented to work without them.

They stare at their radios as they reverse. Mirrors and god-forbid, turning around are completely vestigial. The standard TPMS means that no one knows how to check their cars for operability before they leave the driveway, and they aren’t taking this activity seriously. It’s like a damned video game to them now.

Remember when Cadillac put the night vision in their cars ? Great. Now older people, who buy Cadillacs, can go careening down dark roads faster than ever before.

These things have made the world a more dangerous place. The Government knows that. They only care about getting money. And Government is at the heart of this problem.

If I’m still correct, I’m not sure I am, but if I’m still correct I believe Germany has an intensive driving program that keeps people in classes for days - and at a track of some sort to prove their skills in real-world scenarios. Then if they fail they aren’t allowed to take it for a long time. To top it off, the class is costly. This means that people there are taking this stuff seriously.

And as a result, they can travel down their highway at whatever speed they want.

Throughout the US though our drivers are getting stupider and stupider. People have zero concern for anything because there is a system somewhere that takes care of things. And this means more accidents like this.

This person was going too damned fast. Period. Even if her bright headlights are better than the brown lumenhoses that we used to have. She was going faster than she should.

And to top it off, these cars are so full of metal to meet crash requirements that there is no more visibility. And they are squeezed by eco regulations so that the cars have lost any performance that may be needed to dodge rather than hit.

The whole thing is a mess.

Note: I have a reverse camera in my Suburban. I put it there. I put it down low so I could see any toddler or short person that may be near the truck. I also have a TPMS as of this week so I can monitor the tires ontop of my daily inspection.

“There is a goldilocks zone in here somewhere.”

There is. It is right between a Prius and a Pinto.

I didn’t change the plugs but my mechanic did when he did a complete tuneup (plugs, wires, injectors, coils, flush radiator, etc.) He didn’t say much other than some of them are hard to get at in the back.

I do know the earlier Triton engines only had 3 threads for the plugs so they would occasionally blow out needing to be heli-coiled or some other re-threading system. Can’t believe that got by quality control. Not an issue with the newer ones which I believe are also 3 valve.

My bad.

He only shives a git if a firearm is involved.

I drive a minivan alone.

A minivan, because I was able to afford and sometimes need the space.

Alone, because I can’t afford a second (clown) car to drive alone in.
