You’re correct about the chopper/fuel ploy at Ruby Ridge, the only reason that didn’t eventuate was owing to the bravery of some journalists, who, realizing what was about to happen, burst out of their concealed filming location:
They jumped up and down, pointing to their TV mini-cam, emphasizing that there would be a video record.
Those guys did get their a$ses kicked royally in 30 minutes, but the chopper did go away and there was no fire.

It’s long lost now but back-waaay back when the NRA Gun Talk Bulletin Board was on Dial-up (on a 2400 Baud Modem) I printed out (on tractor feed paper with a Dot Matrix Printer) the entire section on Ruby Ridge. It was about 8” thick when finished.
