Well, not quite. You also have to connect it to an antenna, which usually requires at least one, maybe two, tall towers. That depends on how far you want to transmit. If, as alleged, she was doing local transmission then she can use the short antenna that comes with the radio. I use mine in receive-only and have no trouble picking up the DC area. Transmitting might be a different story, but not fundamentally different.

Who else has a ham radio license? Is easy to find out who in the Washington DC area has a license? You can start searching with members of the cabal and their family.

I'm just curious.....I live in the middle of nowhere.
I've often thought about a ham radio...
Why do you have one...but only receive transmissions?
And you seem knowledgeable what about a CB radio? They ever used anymore?
