MSNBC hosts linked President Trump's approval rating with people who vote based on "whats going to give me more money in my pockets" on Thursday.
MSNBC anchor Stephanie Ruhle also said "a lot of people vote pretty selfishly" when it comes to supporting Trump.
While we could find or do find the presidents constant lying or lawlessness or reprehensible behavior morally unacceptable, a lot of people vote pretty selfishly, and they say, Whats going to give me more money in my pockets? Ruhle said in opening a segment with billionaire Tom Steyer.
Or whats going to make abortion illegal, or whats going to make sure that my Second Amendment rights stay the same, and clearly, that adds up to enough people that the president still has something akin to 40 percent of the electorate in polls," added co-anchor Ali Velshi.
Trump is currently sitting at 43.3 percent in the Real Clear Politics average of major polls, a 6.2 rise since December of 2017 before the GOP tax bill was passed. In a breakdown of respondents, his approval among Republicans is consistently high and consistently low among Democrats.
Steyer, though, pointed to enthusiasm he's seeing in voters opposing Trump that's helping to increase Democratic turnout in elections. He dismissed Trump's approval rating as "constant but at a low level."
"What we are seeing is great passion," he said, pointing to Florida's recent election. "And Florida is a perfect example, Stephanie. A seventy percent increase in Democratic turnout last Tuesday. What that says is, people are deeply upset with this administration, deeply upset with their policies, and deeply upset with their lawlessness.
Steyer, 61, is a former hedge from manager from San Francisco that has since become one of the most active Democratic donors in the country.
“Most people vote based on self-interests.”
Those who don’t are imbeciles.
You can divide the republicans and democrats into people who think the government is a charity. And those who think the government is the mafia. The more you think its a charity the more likely you are a democrat. The more you think its a mafia the more republican you are.
Its not very selfish to vote against the mafia. And if its a charity, its the least efficient charity ever,
I want all those news media arseholes to work for peanuts.
Most folks who work need the money to support their family, so yes, they vote for a good economy.
Pursuit of happiness is a natural right. Natural rights imply natural duty to protect natural rights. It is the proper function of rational government to protect and preserve natural rights.
“MSNBC host: Trump supporters ‘vote pretty selfishly’”
good gosh, what a bunch of tripe ... EVERYONE votes selfishly, either they vote their pocketbook or they vote their ideology or both ... in either case, they’re voting for what they personally want to see happen in the future, in other words, they’re voting selfishly ...
Is it selfish to want others to use their hard earned money to give you free stuff?
No one is more selfish than the moochers in the democratic party and the government turds who fleece the country.
“While we could find or do find the presidents constant lying or lawlessness or reprehensible behavior morally unacceptable”
Is this a quote from the Clinton years?
You are exactly right. And compare that to opposition position on immigration from the left. I will vote to keep open borders! Will get less even if a job at all!!
More proof the Left is unhinged, delusional, certifiably insane, and Marxist to their core, and morally bankrupt!
Did I leave anything out?
Lies and propaganda.
#FakeNews #4thEstate5thColumn #DomesticEnemies
What about gibsmedats who vote for promises of free stuff from the government?
Why wouldn’t I vote for my self interest? I am not paying government to take care of society. If people want to play Ghandi, they can use their own money. The govt gets plenty of money. They should actually do something productive with it instead of all the “feel good” programs they have out there now.
The moral obligation of feeding people only lasts one generation.
Whats going to give me more money in my pockets? Ruhle said in opening a segment with billionaire Tom Steyer.

MSNBC fails to see the irony in that line.
” I swear, by my life and my love of it, that I will never live for the sake of another man, nor ask another man to live for mine.”
Trump supporters 'vote pretty selfishly'
No shirt, Shylock. EVERYBODY votes pretty selfishly.
Republicans = Vote to keep more of their Hard Earned Money.
Democrats = Vote to have an all powerful Government take someone else’s Hard Earned Money and give it to them.
