Sen. Klobuchar Regrets Ending The Filibuster

Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.), who sits on the Judiciary Committee, said Sunday that she regrets that her party eliminated the filibuster for approving most judicial nominees.

When Democrats controlled the Senate in 2013, then-Majority Leader Harry M. Reid (D-Nev.) invoked what's known as the “nuclear option” to get around Republicans blocking President Barack Obama's judicial nominees.

Now, with the nuclear option firmly in place, Democrats have little power to stop Kavanaugh's confirmation.

During an interview Sunday on NBC News's “Meet the Press,” Klobuchar said that, in retrospect, the Democrats should have left the procedure alone.

You’re too free with your money. I’m guessing 5 ‘loosies’ and a 40 oz malt liquor’ll cover it.

Yes I thought at the time it was one of the most colossally stupid political moves I’ve witnessed in my lifetime.

Live by the sword, die by the sword. Karma is so hard on Democrats.

Seriously ROTFLMAO. I bet there would be no regrets if HRC was in the White House. What a crock.

They counted on holding the presidency indefinitely. They counted wrong.

Read the comments on the article. These people cannot be reasoned with. They believe the bullshit they type. How can we be expected to coexist with these people?

Had their election fraud worked in 2016, ending the filibuster would have been a great move. How could they have known that they would fail in stealing what they intended as our last even superficially free election ever?

He only regrets it because the demo_rats lost in 2016 and now have lost out on placing two supreme court justices and many other federal judges. He would be silent right now if hrc won in 2016.

Yes. She should regret it. All the Republicans implored her party not to do it. They attempted to use reason and logic To dissuade them, to no avail.

They were in power, doing as they liked, so full of themselves.

Good. Let them regret this. Let them regret it until they choke on it.

Why would she admit this on national tv? Does she not realize she is contributing to our sense of schadenfreude 10,000 fold? 🤣 That just made my day!

She regrets that Rs are currently using the Reid Rule.
She doesn’t regret that Ds used it in the past.
And if Rs brough the filibuster back then Ds regain the majority she would have no problem getting rid of the filibuster again.

Like the 1st amendment, it’s a good thing with it protects Ds and it’s regrettable when Rs can us it in a way liberals don’t like.

I like your style of thinking. Remember, it was Bill Ayers who wrote to his leftest friends that they would need to kill at least 20 million conservative Americans to usher in a utopian Communist state. He was advocating the extermination and genocide of anyone who does not think like the left. This is why I want socialist everywhere in the world to suffer greatly for their insane policies. I am talking to you Venezuela and California.

Yes, sir. From now on I won't pull on Superman's cape. I won't spit into the wind. I won't pull the mask off the old lone ranger and I won't mess around with him.
