Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.), who sits on the Judiciary Committee, said Sunday that she regrets that her party eliminated the filibuster for approving most judicial nominees.
When Democrats controlled the Senate in 2013, then-Majority Leader Harry M. Reid (D-Nev.) invoked what's known as the nuclear option to get around Republicans blocking President Barack Obama's judicial nominees.
Now, with the nuclear option firmly in place, Democrats have little power to stop Kavanaugh's confirmation.
During an interview Sunday on NBC News's Meet the Press, Klobuchar said that, in retrospect, the Democrats should have left the procedure alone.

“..So they blow up the filibuster in 2013? Smart...”
well, again - them being who they are and all - they figured they had another couple years of “The One” in office, then “herself” was a a shoe-in to win, because, after all, it was HER turn, and they thought they had the system rigged well enough so that Jebbie boy would be Herself’s opponent.
They didn’t count an American stepping up to the plate, someone who couldn’t be bought, bribed, blackmailed, extorted, or otherwise threatened.
So yeah... they WERE and ARE that stupid.
They bit themselves in their own asses.
Fun to watch, actually.
In the next 6 years there will be more Supreme Court vacancies and many more other court vacancies to be filed. Get the Democrat and RINO votes recorded before November in the Year of Our Lord 2018.
And how many thousands of Kagan’s documents did Obama keep private?
McTurtle does have his moments.
For all the flack he’s taken on this forum — mostly deserved — I have to give him full credit for keeping Garland off the court. And while the confirmation process for federal judges at times seems agonizingly slow, the numbers don’t lie.
Trump is reshaping the federal judiciary and McConnell, whatever his other shortcomings, seems to be on board with this effort.
Grassley seems to be stubborn and cranky in a good way through all of this. He is holding the line and not blinking.
“Waaaaaahhhhhh!”
Mitch McConnel himself, as well as every sane person warned them it was a stupid move... because sooner or later you will be on the other side of the conflict...
But you didnt listen... so enjoy your just desserts.
Harry Balls. No, that’s not it.
One eye Harry? No, that’s not it.
Harry, I can smell those tourists...No, that’s not it.
Oh I remember, Harry Reid former Sen. from NV. He’s the guy who, by hook or crook, well sell you anything. Even people’s ranches or mineral rights.
He along with other conspirators sold you out a long time ago girl friend.
Enjoy the suck, Amy.

Hell yeah! I bet they do..lol
We knew nothing up the “wise Latina” as well. These people wouldn’t be breathing if they weren’t hypocrites.
Liberal scum will burn in Hell. That’s the best schadenfreude of all.
The filibuster should be totally abandoned. It is, in my opinion, a sleight of hand amending of the constitution
Did she complain to Harry?”
Are you kidding? I live in Minnesota.
Amy really truly does not have a mind of her own. She’s only in the Senate because of a famous Minnesota last name (her dad’s last name).
She does whatever Tom Daschle wanted, harry Reid wanted and Chuck Schumer wanted.
Is she stupid? No. But she’s absolutely not a deep thinker in any shape of the word.
She really is an empty pants suit.
Reid counted on holding the Senate indefinitely. You only need a filibuster if you are in the minority.
Reid had 53 seats when he changed the rule. It wouldn’t be inconceivable to him that his party would someday lose that slim majority.
However, the conventional wisdom at the time was that the electoral college made the WH practically unattainable for Republicans (blue wall, and all of that), so a Democrat minority would have no reason to ever need the filibuster for presidential judicial picks. He only left it in place for SCOTUS because only Democrats had a history of using it in those cases. Obama got two leftists though to the high court without issue, but Republicans were able to block lower court picks because the low-profile, inside baseball nature of them made it hard for the media to trash them over it.
I just heard her speak at the Kavanaugh hearing.
The most memorable part was when, while mentioning her father, she patted herself on the back for being such a compassionate young child at the very early age of 17.
She brought no one to tears. A real loser.
Over and over and over again, we at FR, among others, were suggesting that “nuclear option” by Reid was a bad, bad, bad idea for their future health.
We honestly tried to help them.
They refused to listen.
In a sane world, it would be a good idea, but the abuse was too rampant. They blew it.
I don’t know whether to laugh, cry or simply be sad or glad.
I share your geographical misfortune, at least when it comes to political "leadership."
She's done absolutely nothing of any significance during her tenure (other than bloviate), and will likely win re-election this fall on the utterly confounding premise that "Amy's done a lot for Minnesota!"
Not that anyone can come up with anything, of course.
Ill reply by quoting Napoleon: Never interrupt your enemy he is making a mistake.
Take joy in their misery. All we want for them is the God given Liberty that is our due.
They want us enslaved or dead.
Picking sides is pretty easy if you ask me.
