It’s a little hate town. Did they think rich liberals would flock in and celebrate their ignorant discrimination?

And we are the nazis!?

“As someone else suggested, wouldn’t it be smart to invite Sarah and her family back and treat her nicely? I don’t mean at the Red Hen, of course, but I know there are other restaurants in town - I saw one earlier in the year attached to a hotel.”

It would be great...except the town’s advisers (most of them Metrosexual, by the way) would be against ‘stirring up the controversy’.

But the bottom line is that businesses are DYING and people will be bankrupt soon over there, unless they turn the ship around, and you don’t do that by putting out a couple of oars and trying to row...you have to take chances.

Well, I haven’t followed this story much beyond the initial Sarah debacle. I will say that when I was there in April, I found most of the shops the usual boring “high street” type of shops - kitchenware, boutique clothing, a yarn shop, endless upscale coffee shops selling bad coffee and even worse baked goods, etc. Sort of like the high street here in NJ - dull, stodgy, politically correct signs in the windows and, worst of all, terrible parking and overpriced items.

Pretty town, though.

Over priced menu, poor quality food drizzled with lots of bad attitude. I love this story!

*** I wonder how the owners of other businesses in the area feel. ***

The backlash from local business seemed pretty swift:

“Stephanie Wilkinson stepped down Tuesday as the director of Main Street Lexington, which works to improve the city’s downtown, WSLS-TV in Roanoke, Virginia, reported.

“Considering the events of the past weekend, Stephanie felt it best that for the continued success of Main Street Lexington, she should step aside,” Elizabeth Branner, president of the Main Street Lexington Board of Directors, said in a statement.”

Don’t believe for a minute that Wilkinson threw herself on her sword on her own volition. The Main Street Lexington Board of Directors made sure that this woman promptly removed her fresh turd in their punch bowl on Monday morning - 2 days after the incident.

Why doesn’t a neighboring restaurant have a MAGA Wear discount?? Might help the whole town? Or does the whole down want to go down righteously in a little pile of hatred?

Lexington Virginia has had a long simmering conflict with the Sons of Confederate Veterans over the display of Confederate flags on public property on Confederate Memorial Day. Ironic since this is where both Stonewall Jackson and Robert E Lee are buried. The SCV has responded by buying or renting private property around town, and erecting large flag polls on which to fly oversized flags. The SCV has also courage a tourism boycott.

>>>the employees contacted the owner for her ideas on how to proceed. The workers told her they felt uncomfortable with Sarah in the restaurant, and so they ‘evicted’ her with the blessing of the owner<<<

Sounds like “collusion” to me.

LOL. I hear you. But towns like this one have to also look at the macro trends. The town that I grew up in has seen its downtown change from something like 40 independent businesses to maybe 2 or 3. The rest are now chain outlets - I call it an “inside out mall”, because it’s the same stores, but without the roof in between them.

Now with Amazon cleaning up, and Walmart just one decent I.T. guy away from figuring out Amazon’s secret (i.e., people want more than just a single crappy picture and a one-sentence description before buying something), the need to leave one’s residence is quickly disappearing...and even inside-out malls have their days numbered.

As to these ‘quaint’ towns, they are the biggest throwback to the past that we have, and if they want to stay in business they will need to offer something more. In this case, sending a message to Red Hen by coming out FORCIBLY against what they did could easily result in the Chick-a-Fil and now In-And-Out results, where we simply overwhelm the Left.

...but ‘playing it safe’ after what happened at Red Hen, sorry store owners, you only have yourselves to blame as your retirements dry up and you live out your elder years in poverty. It is ALWAYS the result when our side decides to ‘play it safe’ against the Left. Always.

The Red Hen is starting to foul the community nest with their rotten eggs of bigotry.

They chose to take a poultry hatred and double “down” on it, and now they’ve seminated the results to the whole Lexington coop. The Red Hen’s nest egg is spent, and now they just sit around and pullet all evening.

Eff the town, now and forever.

Interesting. This is the home of VMI.Also the home and burial place of Stonewall Jackson and a number of his kin who served in the US armed forces. It is also the burial place of Robert E Lee, literally the icon of Southern identity and until the SJW’s got going one of the most revered figures in US history. It is also the location of the George Marshall Museum and archives. The leftists seem able to infiltrate and pollut virtually everything normal people revere.

As soon as “Hate Crime” Legislation was implemented (Unconstitutional to the max), everything that follows is pure unadulterated Orwellian Politicized Thought Crime.

Hate is a Motive, not a Crime.

The thing about liberals in general is they have no class.

If, in their minds, you are beneath them, you are undeserving of common courtesy.

A person that cannot extend common courtesy to others is worthless scum.

In sales I have worked one on one with presidents of decent sized corporations that treated me, the lowly sales rep with sincere courtesy, as an equal. I have dealt with buyers in small companies that are just the opposite.

I stopped doing business with those that are too good to show me basic courtesy.

My father, a career Marine officer, veteran of 3 wars, treated every single person with the same level of courtesy. The man who cleaned his office was addressed the same as his bosses in his civilian job after retirement.
