Kerry Accuses Trump of Trying to ‘Make Things Up’ on Iran

Earlier, the former US Secretary of State said that President Trump’s decision in May to leave the 2015 Iran nuclear deal “weakens our security, breaks America’s word [and] isolates us from our European allies.”

In an interview with CBS’ “Face the Nation”, former US Secretary of State John Kerry berated President Donald Trump for having described the Iran nuclear accord, or the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) as the “worst deal ever.

“Unfortunately — and I say this sadly — more often than not, he really just doesn’t know what he’s talking about. He makes things up. And he’s making that up, as he has other things,” Kerry, who led the US team in nuclear negotiations with Iran, pointed out.

He rejected Trump’s allegations that the JCPOA was ostensibly weak and harmful to the US as false, adding that they could disrupt “the possibilities of international nuclear policy.”

“Just saying that doesn’t make it that. This is the toughest agreement in terms of inspection, accountability — no country has had to do what Iran did in order to live up to this. But to just walk away?” Kerry underscored.

He recalled that JCPOA signatories China, France, Germany and Britain have all tried their best to preserve the Iran deal and that “only the United States walked away.”

“Only Donald Trump [did so]. His defense secretary thought he should keep it, his intelligence people thought he should keep it. The fact is this agreement is working,” Kerry emphasized.

Trump announced Washington’s withdrawal from “the horrible, one-sided [Iran nuclear] deal that should have never, ever been made.” He pledged to reinstate the “hardest” ever sanctions on the Islamic Republic, which are due to enter its second phase in November and are expected to hit Tehran’s oil sector.

Ahead of the announcement, Trump lambasted Kerry for reportedly trying to sit down with European leaders and Iran’s foreign minister Javad Zarif in an attempt to salvage the JCPOA.

“John Kerry can’t get over the fact that he had his chance and blew it! Stay away from negotiations John, you are hurting your country!” Trump wrote on his Twitter page at the time.

Remember, accusations by leftists are always self-referential. If you want to know what they’re up to, listen to what they’re accusing you of.

The problem is that these deepsters go for the best "moral" deal they can negotiate, meaning sit down conversations with the negotiators on the other side. Here is what the US wants, #1,#2,#3, and #4. Other side: nyet, nyet, nyet, nyet and $1.8B in small unmarked bills delivered to multiple secret locations or we walk. US: well what do we get. Other side: you will maintain a continuous inspection force in our deserts to assure we are not up to something. US: deal.

Trump's approach is: believe me you are going to want this deal. No? Ok well, when you come back after some pain, the deal will be worse.

You can actually feel your brain start to liquefy anytime you listen to Kerry for more than a minute.

Make stuff up?

So says John F’n Kerry, who is the master of tales about his escapades in VietNam, his “Swiftboat” career, and all of his medals and purple hearts.

Trump must be into the records to see what Kerry, et al, REALLY did concerning Iran.

It was indeed “working”, Dear Mr. Kerry - to make the Iranian regime filthy rich to spend on buying a state of the art military off the shelf and fund terrorist activities to threaten the US and our allies, not to mention empowering Russia as Iran is one of their client states they were buying the military equipment from. I’m sure the CBS News reporter that was interviewing him challenged him to explain these things, as well as challenge him on his false statements regarding inspections, etc. I’m sure that also that this reporter asked Kerry to explain his other remarks regarding Russia when he ridiculed Mitt Romney for stating Russia was an issue and claiming he was getting his foreign policy information from the “Rocky” movies. Surely the CBS news reporter would not omit all of these things so as to mislead the vast amount of viewers of their program...

Well, it is the haughty John Kerry - who, by the way, once served in Vietnam.

I’m sure there are documents which can be declassified to prove the truth one way or the other, not to mention the results.

People cansling a lot of horse apples when there’s nothing to back it up. Trump will make his share of mistakes, too. There are always unforseen consequences to everything, some good, some bad.

Maybe we should start with the terms of the document. It’s not a treaty. With it’s framework....it has no respect as a treaty. If it were a treaty, you would have forwarded it to the Senate....something that Obama refused to do.

Trump should have him strung up by the tomatoes and interrogated about who received the Iran deal cash.
