Levi Strauss & Co. has expanded their original mission beyond the manufacture of blue jeans. This “values driven company” now feels a responsibility to “the communities where we live and work” and will now engage with other gun control groups to fight for “gun violence prevention.”
Chip Berg, CEO of Levi Strauss, wrote an open letter to his customers asking them not to bring firearms onto the premises of their stores, offices or other facilities. For him, it was a matter of safety. Of course, law enforcement was exempt from that request.
When I learned about their support for gun grabbers back in the 1990s, I decided that I did not need anything from them. I was already moving over to Wranglers because I was in college, and Wranglers were cheaper.

They started leaving the US back in the mid-1990s for production. I think it only took ten years to close out that side of the operation.
I’m curious what ‘employees’ they are talking about. There’s probably only four-hundred of them still working within the US, and most all of them are centered in San Francisco. The other fourteen-thousand are mostly all in China.

Sure seems to me like what at least should be an illegal laundering of foreign government influence in our politics.

DANDONG, China (Reuters) – Chinese textile firms are increasingly using North Korean factories to take advantage of cheaper labor across the border, traders and businesses in the border city of Dandong told Reuters.
The clothes made in North Korea are labeled “Made in China” and exported across the world, they said.
Using North Korea to produce cheap clothes for sale around the globe shows that for every door that is closed by ever-tightening U.N. sanctions another one may open. The UN sanctions, introduced to punish North Korea for its missile and nuclear programs, do not include any bans on textile exports.
“We take orders from all over the world,” said one Korean-Chinese businessman in Dandong, the Chinese border city where the majority of North Korea trade passes through. Like many people Reuters interviewed for this story, he spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the issue. (more)
Like most on this thread, stopped buying their stuff in the 90’s. Only with me, it was because they pulled support from the boy scouts for not allowing homosexual scout masters. Started buying my stuff from LL Bean on line.
Another company I boycotted at the same time for the same reason was Radio Shack. One down, one to go.
If Guns were outlawed, what would stop people from carrying around a gallon of gasoline and matches? The Perfect terrorist tool, by the way. Cheap-easy-terrifying and can’t be stopped.

If they really want to reduce violence, they could contribute to help restore firearms training classes and shooting sports and ORTC too at all high schools. And they could contribute good firearms to school employees and church pastors or members to help
Protect people ( students , parishioners, etc). at their facilities I pick schools and churches because every Muslim terrorist ( and the police) recognize these places ( plus hospitals and nursing homes) as some of snerica’s Easiest “soft targets” to attack — do the above and most of this vulnerability and thus the violent attacks will be substantially reduced.
