TRUMP DEMANDS NYT GIVE UP ANONYMOUS OFFICIAL FOR ‘NATIONAL SECURITY’ REASONS
Daily Caller ^ | 8/5/2018 | Saagar Enjeti

Posted on 09/05/2018 5:06:48 PM PDT by Eddie01

President Donald Trump demanded that that the New York Times hand over the anonymous official who disparaged the president in a recent op-ed for national security reasons, in a Wednesday tweet.

Does the so-called “Senior Administration Official” really exist, or is it just the Failing New York Times with another phony source? If the GUTLESS anonymous person does indeed exist, the Times must, for National Security purposes, turn him/her over to government at once!

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 5, 2018

“It may be cold comfort in this chaotic era, but Americans should know that there are adults in the room. We fully recognize what is happening. And we are trying to do what’s right even when Donald Trump won’t,” the anonymous official said.

Trump previously called the official “gutless” and White House press secretary Sarah Sanders released a scathing statement saying “nearly 62 million people voted for President Donald J. Trump in 2016, earning him 306 Electoral College votes — versus 232 for his opponent. None of them voted for a gutless, anonymous source to the failing New York Times.”

The press secretary ended her statement calling for resignation, saying, “The individual behind this piece has chosen to deceive, rather than support, the duly elected President of the United States. He is not putting country first, but putting himself and his ego ahead of the will of the American people. This coward should do the right thing and resign.”

Oh for crap sake. Take a breath and settle down.

For knowing what we do about rampant criminal activity taking place and not doing a damned thing about it.

He’s essentially an accessory after the fact. He’s running cover for Leftists who are breaking serious laws.

I’m tired of it.

Arrest the son-of-a-bitch and move on.

I blush to admit that years ago I was a news reporter. Nothing big time. Small town daily, which in a way is as real as it gets.

Company policy was anonymous sources had to be identified to managing editor and publisher.

The paper’s biggest asset was its credibility and the top editors weren’t going to throw it away.

National Security reasons, they can be held without reason thanks to the Patriot Act.

Despite what the tinfoil hat crowd and Michael Moore Patriot Act says nothing of the sort, and it would be plainly unconstitutional if it did.

And what national security reasons?

And I'm tired of people falsely claiming Trump is some sort of authoritarian fascist, but here you are urging that he behave exactly like an authoritarian fascist. If the President doesn't like what Sessions is doing, he can fire him, not arrest him.

Luckily, the President is smart enough not to listen to your sort of advice.

LOL

Exactly where did you see me suggest Trump should arrest Sessions?

What I suggested is that Sessions is in fact by default allowing known criminals of the highest magnitude to walk freely among us doing still more harm to the nation.

Arresting him would be the job of the next AG.

I consider him to be as dangerous as any of the people he is refusing to indict. He is enabling each of them to continue what they have been doing.

You suggested that someone arrest Sessions, but for what, I’m still not clear. “[A]llowing known criminals of the highest magnitude to walk freely among us doing still more harm to the nation” is not a crime.

Well, you may not see it as a crime, but I do.

If you have the ability to stop major crime and you don’t, you’re nothing more than a willing accomplice.

He should be put on the payroll.
