Exclusive: Trump's nightmare: "The snakes are everywhere"
Axios ^ | September 6, 2018 | Jonathan Swan, Mike Allen

Posted on 09/06/2018 9:18:27 AM PDT by Reno89519

President Trump is not just seething about Bob Woodward. He’s deeply suspicious of much of the government he oversees — from the hordes of folks inside agencies, right up to some of the senior-most political appointees and even some handpicked aides inside his own White House, officials tell Axios.

The big picture: He should be paranoid. In the hours after the New York Times published the anonymous Op-Ed from "a senior official in the Trump administration" trashing the president ("I Am Part of the Resistance Inside the Trump Administration"), two senior administration officials reached out to Axios to say the author stole the words right out of their mouths.

"I find the reaction to the NYT op-ed fascinating — that people seem so shocked that there is a resistance from the inside," one senior official said. "A lot of us [were] wishing we’d been the writer, I suspect ... I hope he [Trump] knows — maybe he does? — that there are dozens and dozens of us."

Snakes?! No, traitors committing treason by joining or staying in the administration under false pretenses, for undermining the duly elected president, and scheming as a cabal to destroy our government. They stab not only the president in the back, but the American people.

Dozens? Ok, offer a one million dollar reward for turning these snakes in.

Complete and utter BS.

Good point. And whoever advised him—I’d suspect Paul Ryan and more directly, Reince Priebus—should be held directly accountable. Even so, it does, like Amarosa, raise questions about his trust and choice of people. He’s got a few really good choices, a few really bad ones. Sometimes it seems like more of the latter.

~~~
I still wonder if this whole ‘resistance from the inside’ at the senior level isn’t a cover for something more akin to domestic espionage or spying/transferring information from people or technology exploited wittingly or unwittingly.
Axios???!?
REALLY???!?
Why aren’t we just quoting a Steven King novel? At least his fiction is more believable.
And yet he appointed these treasonous snakes.
I was highly disappointed in the transition. Too many bad appointments and not nearly enough firings. I was stunned he did not appear to have a more thorough game plan. It's almost as if he was surprised that he won.
Some also say BS to the NYT’s opinion piece. I don’t agree. The history of President Trump’s administration includes repeated reports of people using encryption and all to share and scheme, to resist from the inside. What I don’t understand is the in-your-face statement given to the NYT. The writer cannot be so clueless to think they won’t be discovered. What do they gain? And I mean seriously, the person will be forever marked like Monica Lewinsky. Even worse.
The problem is the pool of prospective employees, not sure how to get past this without firing everyone.
“Trump’s nightmare”
“President Trump is not just seething about Bob Woodward. He’s deeply suspicious of much of the government he oversees”
Baloney. Author is projecting. I’m sure he doesnt like people under his employ bad mouthing him to the press anonymously or not. But I’m also sure this isn’t a nightmare for him and he isnt getting paranoid about it, much as the news media is trying to make us to believe.
Exactly. Like “senior officials” would go to Axios of all places.
Of course our resident NeverTrump trolls are running with this trash.
I’m just going to say this out loud. This whole thing has reached a level that, no matter which side wins, there is absolutely no way it ends well.
This is going to be epic in its end. And the longest it can last is through two Trump terms. I’m getting my affairs in order (ammo, food, etc.)
He should be paranoid.
This is wishful thinking, as usual, by the MSM enemies. Trump is not a paranoid type. He knows how to handle stress. For example, he knew his campaign was spied upon and he took reasonable precautions.
