Senator Kamala Harriss staff has refused to answer any questions regarding the citizenship status of her parents when she was born. The normal path to becoming a naturalized U.S. Citizen takes five years. Kamala Harris was born in 1964. Her father emigrated from Jamaica to the USA in 1961. Her mother emigrated from India to the USA in 1960. Thus there was not sufficient time for either of Kamalas parents to become naturalized U.S. Citizens. Kamalas father eventually became a naturalized U.S. Citizen per his bio. It is not known at this time if Kamalas mother ever became a naturalized U.S. Citizen. She moved to Canada with Kamala when Kamala was about seven years old. It is possible that Kamalas mother might have naturalized at some point as a Canadian citizen. Kamala Harriss mother is now deceased. As I said in the first sentence, Senator Harris is not being transparent on this issue and her office staff has refused to answer any questions on this subject. Given Kamala Harriss year of birth, and her parents emigration years, she was born in the USA to two foreign nationals and thus inherited their respective birth nations citizenship when she was born, in addition to being a basic Citizen by being born in the USA to aliens legally domiciled here. Thus Senator Kamala Harris was born with citizenship and required allegiance at birth to three countries.

Balderdash. His Father was an English Citizen and the Founders would have rightly declared him to be a Citizen of the Crown.
What is intolerable is the acceptance of the destruction of the Constitution with barely a whimper. Maybe you are the one that didn't learn a lesson.
Not in the SCOTUS after the first Monday of next month she won't.
He had an opinion as do you, neither make law.
Yes, she is a undoubtedly a citizen of the US, but a natural-born citizen?
The internet can debate the issue all it (we) want, but until this question is answered definitely its really a way to label her opponents on this issue as conspiracy theorists.
Specifically, we need the courts to rule positively that one needs not only to be born in the US to be an NBC, but also born of two citizen parents.
Until and unless that happens its a non starter. Its an issue that should be addressed though because its just going to come up more frequently as we have more and more offspring from subsequent generations of barely legal if not outright illegal immigrants running for president.
.
The question was heard by SCOTUS while all of the sitting justices were founders.
They ruled that the child of a man that is a US citizen is himself born a us citizen, regardless of where he is born.
In the present political climate, the same would definitely be held for a woman.
Well thats interesting I hadnt seen that in the countless Obama NBC threads.
Do you have source material that shows the courts have already ruled that to be an citizen (thus also an NBC) one must be born of a citizen father?
In Obama’s case it was never litigated on its merit.
They used Alinksy tactics to shut down anyone who raised it.
The Senate resolution for McCain specifies TWO citizen parents.
This is how the Constitution becomes an irrelevant piece of paper.
The GOP had a stable full of their own ineligibles, Rubio, Cruz, Haley, Jindal and most importantly George P. Bush.
His mother was a Mexican national at the time and he was born a Mexican national as a result.
Both parties wanted the natural born citizen clause gutted.
The second amendment does not define “shall not be infringed”, it is still clear to clear-thinking people.
The only ones who don’t understand both phrases are the ones who don’t want to.
Agree. An NBC case against US-born person K. Harris will be be tossed out in a minute - as such cases have been in the past.
This stuff is basically a sewing circle for sharing fantasies about the courts somehow overturning precedent in order to make the most conservative interpretation possible of a part of the constitution that is thinly written, and to do so in a way that materially affects a presidential election.
There are better uses for our time.
“will the gutless GOP have the stones to stop The First Viable Female African American Presidential Candidate because she isnt a NBC? I dont think so.”
common sense? in an NBC thread? egad, man, what are you thinking?
FR needs a “like” button for replies such as these.
How many law suits were brought against the Cruz Presidential Campaign in 2016 claiming he was ineligible to run and how many were tossed out? I’ll give you a hint....it was more than one.
This whole kerfluffle is counter-productive and silly. The courts or congress will decide the definition of “Natural Born Citizen” whether we like it or not.
