Pence: Trump a ‘tough,’ ‘demanding’ president who ‘wants things yesterday’
The Hill ^ | 09/09/18 | Kyle Balluck

Posted on 09/09/2018 7:20:25 AM PDT by yesthatjallen

Vice President Mike Pence in an interview broadcast Sunday said that accounts in veteran journalist Bob Woodward’s new book that Trump insults his Cabinet members are “very foreign to me,” adding that the president can be “tough” and “demanding” and “wants things yesterday.”

“I would tell you I know this president has great respect for the men and women who serve in this Cabinet,” Pence said on CBS’s “Face the Nation.”

“And these accounts are very foreign to me. And I'm just not aware of instances where they've occurred and or where they would occur,” he added.

Pence said he would “stipulate” that “working in the White House is not for everybody.”

“I mean this president is tough. He's demanding. He wants things yesterday. And I think it's one of the reasons why we've accomplished so much in such a short period of time. I mean the truth is I think President Donald Trump is the most accomplished president of my lifetime and I think already one of the most successful presidents in American history, he said.

According to Woodward’s "Fear: Trump in the White House," Trump insulted Cabinet members and high-ranking national security officials including Attorney General Jeff Sessions, whom Trump reportedly called “mentally retarded.” Woodward's book and an anonymous New York Times op-ed purportedly written be a senior administration official working to thwart parts of the president's agenda roiled the White House last week.

Pence also said on CBS that “everything” is wrong with the narrative in Woodward’s book that people around the president are trying to protect the country from him.

“It shows a complete misunderstanding of how this White House works, and what President Trump provides for this country every day is strong and decisive leadership in the Oval Office,” Pence said.

“The narrative that I've picked up, in not only this book but the opinion editorials, suggests that things are happening in spite of the president's leadership, and nothing could be further from the truth,” he added.

I a perfect example of how Trump works.

The ice arena in Central Park. It was broken and the city spent over 13 years and Millions and NEVER fixed it! Trump got tired of seeing the mess out of his window and challenged the Mayor that he could get it up and running in less than a year at a fraction of what they spent so far.

6 months later it was done and $750,000 under budget.

That is how he wants to run this government!

“Trump wants it Yesterday,,,”

Maybe, but the patience he has shown with the Justice Department is beyond belief. If it were me it would be all I could do to restrain myself from tossing Rosenweasel and Magoo of the roof of the DOJ building.

I agree with you and sympathize with your frustration. It drives me crazy too. Trump needs to release those damn FISA docs this week and then start cleaning house at DOJ without further delays. Let’s get on with really draining the Swamp.

". . . including Attorney General Jeff Sessions, whom Trump reportedly called “mentally retarded.”

Sessions may be mentally retarded, but Bob Woodstine [Woodward for you Rio Lindas] is a grotesque, line bred, drooling, lobotomized, filthy liar.

Hey McConnell and Ryan, if you want to know what it looks like to be a loyal Conservative supporting the president, please note this offering by Pence.

You two have been missing in action for nearly two years.

Precisely why we elected him.”””

EXACTLY.

I once had a boss like that. He taught me alot, and if we both were not well over 75, I would work for him again-—ANYWHERE he asked me to do so.

If there is a resistance wing in the WH, they’re not doing a very good job of it. Promises Made, Promises Kept rather negates that notion. Someone is putting through the president’s agenda....

The alternative is a weak and feckless boss who never pushes people to produce great things but achieve little.”””

The weak ones also take credit for what you have done. Been there-—Done that—learned to do ALL my accounting work in BLACK PEN...not pencil.

Speaking for myself, my resume and skills were always enhanced by working for bosses who demanded high levels of performance and tangible accomplishments rather than bosses who just want to look like they were doing something.

Would work again for the Controller I had at Universal Studios if he asked me. However, we both are well over 75 now, so I am NOT expecting the call...

However—Gene-—— I THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for everything you demanded of me.

The intellectually facile Woodward comes from a small town---Washington.
He fails to understand Donald Trump is the winner-take-all in the most demanding dog-eat-dog worlds of business:

<><>Trump triumphed in the hard-scrabble world of real estate development;

<><> Trump ran several casinos in the do-or-die world of gaming (remember that even Hugh Hefner could not get an A/C gaming license---Trump had four licenses); and,

<><>Trump was at the top of the ratings for 14 years in the brutal TV industry wars.

Now that he's president, we are fortunate that he brings all these skills to the Oval office.

He did not get to where he is by accident.......it took skill, intelligence and the tremendous insights Trump possesses.

Gee, imagine working in a place where your boss expects you to accomplish something. Even worse, expects you to complete a task he’s given you.

Good grief, every American who has held a job recognizes a tough but fair boss. We have all had our feelings hurt when we fall short, but that’s why we strive to actually achieve. Those lazy deep staters have no clue what the real world is like.

I’m grateful to every tough, demanding boss I have ever had

And impeccable timing——8 years of The Messiah helped elect Trump.

Well we’ve waited this long. Should have been done 6 months ago but right now may not be the best time to start a shit storm. Get Kavanaugh confirmed (Mitch, you better get Murkwoski’s mind right) then let loose the dogs of war.

The problem is, the clock is ticking. If the Dems take back the House they shut the investigations down. Release of the FISA docs should be done now so that congressional investigators and others like Judicial Watch can put more pieces of the puzzle together and have time to make connections and see linkages between people and events.

I think what’s in the FISA docs is going to be very explosive stuff because the DOJ and the Dems have gone to such great lengths to conceal it. At the very least, the FISA docs will provide justification for firing and investigating Rosenweasel, obviously a member of the cabal and key player in this whole scandal.

I agree. The Rats in the DOJ are running out the clock hoping they get the house. I worry what they are going to do to make sure that happens. So the moment Kavanaugh gets confirmed, I mean 5 minutes after the vote release the docs. That should leave 2 months to get things rolling even if we lose the house.

“And these accounts are very foreign to me. And I’m just not aware of instances where they’ve occurred and or where they would occur,” he added.

This is why I don’t care for Pence. Speak like a real person and not a calculating politician. “not aware” “foreign to me”.

Plausible deniability? Can’t come out and just say “it’s not true” because that could come back to him compared to “not aware”. I’m sure he said it with all the familiar head tilts and nods. Plastic Man

If the Rats win back the House (shudder), they don’t take over until January.

There will be a whole lot of Declassified Documents released in the middle of November if that happens. It will be a Thanksgiving Surprise.
