And so far we have exactly zero examples of something that strong in the North Atlantic and perhaps one in the North Pacific (Haiyan that struck the Philippines a few years ago). There is no upward trend line connecting strongest wind speeds in North Atlantic hurricanes in recent decades, Camille (1969) was about the peak and not far enough above cat-5 minimum to be considered a hypothetical cat-6.
