In Texas, Ted Cruz Has ‘A Dogfight on His Hands,’ Some Republicans Admit

HOUSTON — Days after a top adviser to President Trump questioned Senator Ted Cruz’s chances of winning re-election, the Texas lawmaker casually stepped into the pinnacle of his hometown’s energy industry on Tuesday — the lobby of the Petroleum Club of Houston, on the 35th floor of a downtown skyscraper.

Mr. Cruz shook hands while holding a cup of McDonald’s coffee. By the end of his remarks to the American Petroleum Institute, the audience rose for two standing ovations. It was not a campaign event, but it might as well have been: Mr. Cruz was relaxed and confident, eager to both attack his Democratic opponent and to poke fun at himself — and his critics.

“When there’s extreme anger and hatred on the other side, don’t respond in kind,” Mr. Cruz told the audience beneath the glittering chandeliers. “Have fun. Be a joyful warrior.” He recalled encountering a Twitter handle, “Ted Cruz ate my son.” “I was really tempted to tweet, ‘He was delicious,’” he said.

I’m not saying this isn’t true but when I went to the article I noticed it was by the New York Times...

I don’t understand how this can be true if Cruz got more votes in the recent primary than all his opponents combined?

There has been no recent scandal or horrible event. If the same number who voted for him in the primary vote for him in November, he’s got It bagged.

And I imagine MORE will, it being a general election. And that at least some who voted for his primary opponents will now vote for him...

No, he is going to make sure Texas stays deep Red.

Cruz' being unlikeable has nothing to with his getting reelected as a Senator.

If he votes with Trump, we will vote for him.

He recalled encountering a Twitter handle, “Ted Cruz ate my son.” “I was really tempted to tweet, ‘He was delicious,’” he said.

Between this, and Ted's hair dye 'joke'....I'd say he needs to drop his attempt at humor, to keep his day job.

Just tout conservative values, Ted....leave the jokes out of it. NoBeto is a big enough joke on his own.

Who is better funded?

Hillary! was better funded, remember? Don't let the New York Times play with your mind.

You people hoping that Cruz should lose are sick, twisted fools. I have more respect for serial killers.

Beto stickers and signs are everywhere. Cruz better start campaigning. The enthusiasm on the other side is real. Sucks to find out how many Democrats are in my neighborhood.

Remember, Wendy Davis has energized Texan women who now love abortion because of her cute pink shoes. Irish-American “beto” gets his name pronounced in its non-native Mexican on TV and Hillary Clinton is up by 10 points in Ohio and Florida and 20 in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan. Oh, and Trump will need an “inside straight” to win, which is nigh impossible according to my Turd Blossom oracle.

I hope he wins, too.
I would like him to focus on being a good Senator.
Texas needs one.

Well, you allow hordes of illegals to settle in your state.

Gov Perry pushes for and gets In State tuition for illegal kids.

Your push for jobs attracts Northeastern and West Coast Liberals, because “they” have high paying tech jobs and you love to brag about it. Yet, none of them, NONE, of them will ever adapt to the “Texas Way of Life”. They will settle in places like Austin and turn them into a dump, gradually competing with the likes of Seattle and San Fran.

Reap what you sow.

Democrat Wendy Davis will slaughter Republican, Greg Abbott in the 2014 Texas Governor race....you can bank on it.

Reality: Republican, Greg Abbott wipes up the floor defeating, Democrat, Wendy Davis by a victory margin of over 1,000,000 votes.

Duh......Republican, Ted Cruz will easily repeat the Abbot performance on Democrat, Beto O’Rourke. Case closed!!!
