I don’t understand how this can be true if Cruz got more votes in the recent primary than all his opponents combined?

There has been no recent scandal or horrible event. If the same number who voted for him in the primary vote for him in November, he’s got It bagged.

And I imagine MORE will, it being a general election. And that at least some who voted for his primary opponents will now vote for him...

Well, O’Rourke is campaigning like Trump, non-stop, and he is not in D.C. physically. TCruz seems absent from the state a lot. People in TX can be easily fooled.
