Hurricane Florence was downgraded to a Category 1 storm late Thursday night, as it approached shore but officials warned it was still very dangerous.

‘There goes Trump, downgrading another woman.’
ha ha...that’s what some loon on FB will probably say...
Yes, He brought a hurricane to knock Diane Feinstein and Bob Woodward out of the news cycle.
Then downgraded it at the last minute so as to make the media look stupid for blaming Trump.
BTW: Release the tapes you don’t have Bob.
Stormy Daniels was bigger.
Trump and his hurricane patrol have been working through the night to reduce this storm’s power. Good job, Mr. President. Keep up the good work.
Even a second-rate mime does “high wind” better than that.
More Category 5 BS from the propagandists.
Amen!
I'll bet Stormy Daniels has an echo. (Figure out the movie reference.)
I noticed on the lobby TV last night a truck driving through about 2 feet of water on a neighborhood street. I wondered if that was the only place it was flooding.
I’ve noticed that a lot of people think the press sensationalizes the news and that’s one reason we don’t believe them any more. Remember the reporter a decade or so ago in heavy rain gear fighting the strong wind, and some local in a Hawaiian shirt and shorts casually walks by in the background?
My favorite: We had a serious earthquake in Seattle a couple of decades ago and a single building in Pioneer square - a VERY old brick building - had some major damage with bricks falling on the street, crushing a couple of cars. On the national media you would see all these pictures serious damage to old buildings and destroyed cars and thing the city was severely impacted. Except they were all pictures and videos from different perspectives and time of day of that single building and the two or three cars.
It affected how I filter all “disaster” stories from the breathless MSM.
Nope. And with the storm stalling and moving really slow flooding is guaranteed
Some of the folks here are I am sure trying to humorous.
... and live up hill..
...and the 85 ft high waves.....the sharks.....will be raining sharks.
If you listen carefully, you can hear the libs wailing and moaning for their lost crisis.
I was watching FOX news this morning. They had a live shot from one of the coastal beach towns right during the “eye”.
Suddenly, about 5 people came out the door of the condo complex about 100 yards behind him in the shot. One of the guys actually hid behind a bush/hedge so that the camera would not see him. It was funny.
All the news companies are like the boy who cried wolf. They hype the crap out of these storms that end up being so/so. Eventually, we will get hit again by a real class 4 or 5 and people will not leave when they should.
There still could be a problem with inland flooding IF the storm stalls like they have predicted.
‘They hype the crap out of these storms that end up being so/so.’
one of their intrepid reporters committed the ultimate faux pas; he was talking about people who stayed, and he let slip that if it didn’t get any worse, those who stayed would be happy they stayed, because they couldn’t get back if they left...he realized what he said, and backpedaled neatly, saying ‘I shouldn’t have said that...’
I was here during Hurricanes Frances and Jeanne. One of them sat on us for almost two days. The amount of rain and flooding was unbelievable so yes, its what hurricanes do. I lived it.
These TV shows on HGTV and “Beachside Bargain Hunt” never seem to mention what can happen to these homes when the “once in 30 years storm” comes through. This National Flood Insurance that we all subsidize needs to end. I am tired of rebuilding somebodies multimillion dollar beach house once every 20-30 years.
If you choose to buy a house near the ocean or in the flood plain of some river you need to suffer the consequences of your bad decision. I still do not know why we rebuilt houses in the 9th ward of New Orleans. The government should have condemned the whole area and turned it into a city park. Why let someone rebuild in an area that is 6-8 feet BELOW sea level.
