How can this be? With Global Warming I though we were going to get Cat 6 Hurricanes up the wazzoo.
Not to minimize this storm, but it’s to laugh.
Good news in that there will be less instant destruction.
The bad news is that the storm is huge ... Lots of flooding :-(.

Good news on the winds, but there is still going to be a lot of water. The water can’t spread out like around Houston, the area is hilly and the water will collect into streams and turn to flash floods.

NHS always over states hurricanes. Think of it this way. If they said it was a Cat 1 and a Cat 5 hit, they’d eat a lot of crow. Better to say Cat 5, and Cat 1 hits. Weather Channel, as usual, has been crying glooming doom all week. Still, it is slow moving, so it will cause power outages and flooding. I live in Florida. For a Cat 1, I’d sit out on my front porch and drink orange juice.
