I’m actually fine with this. Ryan is child and can’t get it done. Jim Jordan’s got some iron in his stones and will get it done.

When the time comes, he’ll do what he’s told.

If you look at the yearly escalation....I would say in five years that around 50-million Americans will have given up on it, refusing to participate. At that point, you can start counting....it won’t make more than five or six years. We will end up with Medicare for all....regretting it greatly.

You are assuming the GOP will keep the house. ONLY THEN can we have a Republican Speaker. If the House flips, say hello once again to Miss “We have to pass it to see what’s in it”

They aren’t doing that either.

And they are all rats.

RE: This cannot do congress, a Republican majory, in name only, is embarrassing. No repeal of Obamacare, no funding of border wall, no immigration reform, no national reciprocity. Just lots of No.

What’s the alternative?

“...when handed all the reins of power they couldn’t even repeal it...”

Again, it all comes down to whether we could get 60 votes in the Senate to invoke cloture. We don’t have that. Not even close.

Your point about the weakness of the GOP is noted and in general, I don’t disagree wit you. But it all comes down to not who controls the Senate - but the actual number of seats that we’re in control of.

Do I like any of this? Hell No! But it’s a fact and one we should do well to recognize.

For real. Our healthcare does NOT need to go back to the mess we had, before.

There was no "mess" with out healthcare system until politicians got involved, specifically Ted "The Swimmer" Kennedy. If nothing else, we know which GOP pols need to have a target put on their backs (the ones that are sticking around, at least).

And a portion of the electorate will give up on the GOP. The pubbies will probably like that; they seem happier in the minority.

“We need to win this election and then get more seats next year.”

Same ole message every other year. All they want is to be elected, not produce results.

As much as I despise ObamaCare, I can't really blame the GOP for this. ObamaCare has become just like Social Security and Medicare, and repealing it is a political non-starter.

The thing has so many holes in it that it is bound to collapse under its own weight, and the law itself can be used by a responsible administration to carve out exceptions and loopholes to reduce costs for many Americans.

They will keep the house. People have had it. Even the liberals are tired of literally living in sh!t in SF, LA, even Seattle. Now, Seattle’s not going to flip any time soon, but people are enjoying having jobs, but not so much illegal aliens committing the bulk of crime.

You won’t hear it at dinner parties, but it’s why Cynthia Nixon got her ovaries handed to her in the primary. None of Bernie’s candidates are winning. President Trump is almost undefeated in terms of backing winning candidates. I think only one of his endorsed guys lost.

The night before the election, it was a metaphysical certainty that HRC was going to win, to the point of ‘why even vote?’

Well, that’s the point of all this chatter and polls. TRUST NONE OF IT. NONE.

Go vote, and then wait. If the GOP can produce approximately 5% more votes, then they’ll win by less than 0.5%.

We’ll likely gain seats.

Conservatives should work to develop an new industry built around insuring people responsibly at low cost.

Various provisions of ObamaCare can be easily toppled through legal challenges on any number of fronts. The problem is that nobody has taken it upon themselves to mount those legal challenges -- mainly because nobody really has any standing to challenge those provisions unless they have an alternative plan set up that is outlawed under the current law.

Lots of alternatives. Or, we can STFU and let them do as they want—lie to us to raise money and get our votes, then do as they want. One thing Hillary Clinton was too right about, politicians have an outside the beltway answer and an inside the beltway answer to everything.

If not for the despicable Democrats, the GOP would never win anything. The only reason they are able to “win” seats is because they are the lesser of two evils.

To play devil’s advocate here, and not that I am happy with the lack of repeal, why would the GOP do anything? From a purely political standpoint, Obamacare is a political albatross hung around the democrats neck. Their feeble attempts to blame Republicans for healthcare and then propose socialized medicine are just that, feeble.

From a practical standpoint, it never worked unless Obama granted waivers and other executive actions to try and bandaid it together. Trump is ripping those off. The result is that Obamacare is failing all on its own.

Of course, from a real world perspective, as Obamacare fails, John Q Public suffers with through the roof premiums and a shrinking network of doctors who you like and can keep.
