Vanity: We need Ted Cruz in the Senate.

Posted on 09/15/2018 10:06:43 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

Trump needs him. Texas needs him. If we are going to help Trump move his (our) conservative agenda, then we ALL need him. It would be absolutely insane to have any FReepers working against us on this critical point.

O'Rourke would be a disaster for all of us. If you're going to badmouth Cruz, don't do it on FR!

Go, Trump, GO!!

Go, Cruz, GO!!

Same in West Texas. On money, Beto says he rejects PAC cash in favor of “small donors.”

Never mind Texas...he was in New York the other day.

So all the debates are going to be in Democrat strongholds? The idiots running the Cruz campaign were such poor negotiators that they couldn’t get a single debate in friendly territory? Does Cruz WANT to lose?

It kinda made sense that they chose major cities and stayed out of Austin.

Beto wanted all the debates to be Town Hall Style. There is only one town hall and the other 2 are moderated.

Cruz will tear him up, just you wait'n see.

Yeah, I’m not the biggest Cruz fan-although I’m probably an outlier in thinking he has a better personality than most of his critics give him credit for-but this isn’t even a close call.

This is the LBJ state, so you can count on it.

For some reason though many Texans are enchanted with “Beto”, whom they believe resembles what could have been the youngest son of RFK.

Thank you Jim. I have respected Senator Cruz throughout his tenure representing us. He’s a controversial guy because he isn’t in public service trying to pacify the rats. He stands for what we elected him for. It makes people mad that he hasn’t always been nice or accomodating but we have enough of those accomodating guys in office.

Go Ted!

I am certain that we will not vote against our own best interest

Not I; people vote against their own best interest all the time. They are too uninformed to know.

Cruz can “mop the floor” with Beto, but in TX the voters will never know, for they don’t watch debates except for President.

Supposedly, a Cruz campaign officials thinks signs are a waste of campaign funds, but I don’t know about that. I haven’t seen any Cruz signs, but “Beto” is widespread.

There must be money pouring in here in North Texas for the Democrats, because there are Beto signs everywhere.

Same with my area of central Texas and when I try to engage in conversation when knocking on doors I get the "he's the man of the people" line. Just got back from 2 weeks out of state and back to volunteering for Ted. The people with his signs mostly don't even comprehend issues and his platform.

You are talking to a Texan, and you don’t know what you are talking about. We watch them like a sporting event.

Y'all may not watch but you got that generalization way off. My family, friends and most co-workers not only watch but text and talk about it for months. It's like football.

If you read all the way through you find Hispanics were counted as white, then separated out. If you notice in the first part where is says 70.4% white, Hispanic is not given as a category. The very last sentence is telling.

As of the 2010 US Census, the racial distribution in Texas was as follows: 70.4% of the population of Texas was White American; 11.8% African American; 3.8% Asian American; 0.7% American Indian; 0.1% native Hawaiian or Pacific islander only; 10.5% of the population were of some other race only; and 2.7% were of two or more races. Hispanics (of any race) were 37.6% of the population of the state, while Non-Hispanic Whites composed 45.3%.

Thank you! I have been a Cruz supporter from the start of his senate campaign - I have met him in person at church.

He should win easily, but I am slightly concerned due to anti-Republican sentiment from Texas teachers & their family & friends which is mostly directed at state officials, but may spill over to this race.

There were some changes for the worse in their health & retiree benefits, & I have seen calls to “block vote them out!” regarding our Republican governor & lt. gov. It didn’t seem to have much of an impact in the primaries, so here’s hoping it will not in the general either.

Well, that’s the first interesting new news about Cruz I’ve heard in a long while... where does Ted Cruz go to church?

Or was it a one time meeting that he attended?
