Does this South Jersey poll spell trouble for Menendez?

A new poll shows Democratic U.S. Sen. Robert Menendez trailing Republican challenger Bob Hugin by 10 percentage points in a battleground South Jersey congressional district that Democrats are hoping to turn blue.

On the surface, that might not seem terribly troubling for Menendez, who draws 36 percent to Hugin's 46 percent of voters in the 2nd congressional district, according to the Stockton University survey released Wednesday.

The district -- which includes all of Atlantic, Cape May, and Cumberland counties, including parts of four other counties -- went for Republican Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential election. And Republican Frank LoBiondo has held the district's seat in the U.S. House for 24 years.

Would be poetic if Menendez lost seeing as though the only reason the seat is vulnerable is because of the media aided his underage prostitute cover-up last time when they could have just forced him out.

For what it’s worth, I travel all corners of the State extensively and there are Hugin signs everywhere. Haven’t seen a single Menendez sign.

South Jersey, especially the district mentioned, is a different planet than the rest of the state ... and relatively sparsely populated.

There were no signs for Hillary either, only Trump signs everywhere.

Of course them democrats that counted the votes, and the dead said Hillary won NJ.
Sorry but I still don't believe that,

hopefully Hugin will defeat the cheats...

North NJ dominates the state.

Its why the Rats have a guaranteed lock on elections there.

Sorry to burst your bubble.

It’s just silly believing Hillary won New Jersey by fraud.

That’s what Michigan was like in 2016.

If Menendez finds a way to lose, it’ll be a Red Wave.

Don’t count on it.

No. Read the specifics. It’s a telephone poll. Over sampled Dems 34 to 30%. South Jersey is majority Republican.

All you need to do to win is have large pluralities in North Jersey. Specifically Essex, Hudson, and Passaic counties.

I’m not saying he won’t be beat, as Governor Christie won 2 statewide terms, but rather it will be tough.

Do not doubt me, Menendez is a lock. However many votes that he needs to find on Election Day, he will find in Union County. Be it one or one million, he will find them.

Corrupt is as corrupt does.

It would be accurate if South NJ had the edge in demographics.

It doesn’t and the populous Rat cities to the north outvote it every time.

In the north, Sussex, Warren, Hunterdon & Morris counties went for Trump and are reliably Republican. Somerset used to be but with the huge influx of people in the last 15 years it is now a loss. In central NJ, Monmouth & Ocean are Trump turf. In the south it’s pretty much just Cape May, Gloucester and Salem.

Jersey City, Paterson, Newark, New Brunswick, Trenton, Camden and Atlantic City are dem strongholds and when they get their vote out it blows the rest of the state away.

Not really. We in southern New Jersey vote mostly for the republicans, but the cities outvote us all the time.

I hope so but I doubt it. He’s got that “D” next to his name and that’s all that matters to too many people in NJ.

Yeah. They can drag enough illegal aliens, criminals, double and triple voters and mental retards out of Hudson, Essex, Passaic, Middlesex, Bergen, Camden,
And Mercer Counties to elect a total ass.
Look at Phil Murphy.

No, that doesn’t spell trouble because that part of the state is reliably red. Menendez will draw from Newark, Paterson, Jersey City, Camden, Elizabeth and the Amboys. Typical Dem path to victory here. It all depends on the turnout there and how much cheating there is.

The fact that this man is even on the ballot is disgusting to this state.
