Free speech social media platform Gab.ai has rebranded as Gab.com and aims to become a tech hub for “liberty-minded tech startups” that wish to avoid connections to leftist Silicon Valley groups.
Gab.ai, the free-speech themed social media platform founded by CEO Andrew Torba, has long aimed to act as an alternative to sites such as Twitter and Facebook. Now Gab is rebranding as Gab.com and aims to provide an infrastructure for tech developers that wish to grow their own platforms and products without being forced to go through leftist companies based in Silicon Valley.
Andrew Torba spoke to Breitbart News about the websites rebranding stating: “This week Gab announced a rebrand to Gab.com in order to continue our mission of defending free expression and individual liberty online for all people.” Torba continued: “Gab.com is the next chapter in our story. We are maturing as a platform, as a brand, and as a community of people from around the world. We seek to free humanity from the chains of Silicon Valley’s data silo, psychological manipulation, censorship, and ideological echo chambers.”
Torba stated that the platform wants to create a platform where all ideas can be expressed, saying: “We are in the process of building out free speech-friendly infrastructure so that one day, other liberty-minded tech startups can build using our tools and avoid any connection at all to Silicon Valley.”
Discussing Gab’s growth worldwide and how it can act as an open communications platform when other social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter censor their uses, Torba stated: “Gab has over 670,000 users from around the world and we are adding 100,000+ new users every month. Our goal is to make Gab the home of free speech online.”

I just signed up. It’s doesn’t seem to work very well on my iphone so I tried on the PC, similar issues. Very strange.
I saw a lot of Stormfront types over there last time I tried it. I’m willing to gove it a chance, but any truly open platform is going to feature a lot of voices that will trigger bans elsewhere on the Internet.
Then about 5 minutes later, up springs all the moonbats. Does GAB filter out moonbats? What's comes after GAB?
He'd better have vetted his board, as well as his IT employees and programming staff, or he'll be out on his ass.

What I’ve seen so far is that they’re just totally ignored....totally.
It’s like a screaming imbecile in a padded room....no one pays them any attention.
I just Tweeted that idea to the President. Told him I, along with most of his followers would migrate. Pound a stake in Twitter's heart.

Personally, I think it’s just a matter of time before he’s over there.
As it is, there are folks on GAB that provide a link to his twitter account so everyone there that’s been banned/censored etc. can see his tweets.
Yeah, I figured I wasn't the only one. I don't know if he ever gets to read any of the incoming, but it was worth a shot.
You can use gab.com these days. They (Gab) just obtained the gab.com domain.
You could try asking for assistance from the @getongab account on Twitter. Perhaps they’ll answer.
If you sign-on through gab.com, you should get the iOS Progressive Web App. You can save the app onto your iOS device.
It isn’t bad.
They don’t filter... at all. If you find a moonbat or Nazi, you can mute that person. If enough people mute some of the users, nobody can hear them scream.
Once I muted about 15 people from the general Gab feed, the quality of the postings improved a lot.
I’d bet the iOS progressive web app has increased the postings on gab.
It's a different styled platform that's for sure but once you get the hang of it it does grow on you rather quickly so hang in there for awhile. Took me about 2 to 4 weeks to really get a handle on it. I've been there about a year now and it has fast become probably my msg forum of choice overall by far because of the far ranging of topics and users.
Totally free speech and no banning because the thin skinned admin got his/her nose bent or twisted out of joint over something that was said or meme that got posted. Like any other site you'll soon learn who you like or find friendly or of like minded interests and you build your relationships around them and from there. It's growing like gangbusters right now.
