Trump says he’ll rid Justice Dept. of ‘lingering stench’
Associated Press ^ | Sep. 21, 2018 10:32 PM EDT | Jonathan Lemire

President Donald Trump issued an ominous warning about the Justice Department and the FBI on Friday, promising further firings to get rid of a “lingering stench” following reports that Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein discussed secretly recording the president.

Trump, speaking at a rally in Missouri, did not explicitly mention the Rosenstein furor, which was first reported by The New York Times and confirmed by The Associated Press.

But Trump lashed out against what he sees as anti-Trump bias in the Justice Department, touting the firings he has orchestrated, unnerving many in federal law enforcement and sparking fears about the future of the special counsel’s Russia probe, which Rosenstein oversees.

“You’ve seen what happened in the FBI and the Department of Justice. The bad ones, they’re all gone. They’re all gone,” Trump said. “But there is a lingering stench and we’re going to get rid of that, too.” […]

Trump also repeatedly laced into the Democratic Party.

“They aren’t just extreme,” he said. “They are frankly dangerous and they are crazy.” …

He tweets well but— inexplicably— he’s forgotten the one line that made him famous, “You’re FIRED!”

Either Sessions is deep state or else Trump/Sessions are playing up the “rift” to string the conspirators along until the mid terms.

If the former then Trump got played like a Stradivarius. If the latter then Trump/Sessions deserve an Academy Award when they play their hand.

I’m waiting for another six or so weeks to find out.

After the midterm elections he will say and do this with a vengeance.

Mark Levin: Don’t Fire Rod Rosenstein; New York Times Article May Be a Setup

Breitbart ^ | September 21,2018 | Mark Levin

Posted on 9/21/2018, 5:03:00 PM (Hat Tip) by Hojczyk

Radio host Mark Levin warned fellow conservatives on Friday evening that they should not rush to conclusions about the New York Times‘ latest story alleging that Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein had plotted against President Donald Trump.

He warned that Trump’s enemies might be trying to goad him into firing Rosenstein before the midterm elections by leaking information from memoranda created by former Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe, who was fired in March for lying.

In addition, Levin cautioned conservatives to consider why the Times — with its record of inaccurate reporting on the Trump administration — would have wanted to expose a threat to Trump. He pointed out several left-wing canards in the article, such as the claim that Trump had asked former FBI director James Comey to end the investigation of National Security Advisor Michael Flynn.

Too late. hes lost, losing so much of his support NOW ( due to the 24/7 defamations from the entire sorozNazi sedition network including the mass media — and his 20 month- long failure to Drain the Swamp as promised). He could be facing a dimocrap congress after the elections ( and there’s zero reason for any further delay anyway). Imho he should deliver on his Swamp Draining promise now. Enough tweets already! He needs to do the job if he wants to survive ( and succeed ) in office. Imho. Just how it looks away from FR where , of course, we all support him

Right: we’re still in the JCPOA and UNHRC, our Israeli embassy is not moving to Jerusalem, the UNRWA didn’t get defunded, the economy is still in the less-than-2-percent-growth doldrums . . . that’s quite the track record for a “blowhard”.

It is not just DOJ. It is everywhere in federal, state and local government. If Trump fired 10 or even 100 deep staters a day, he does not have enough time left in his life to even make a dent.

And why exactly are we stuck on waiting until the midterms? Is the President going to have a bigger majority than he has now? What if we lose the house? One thing for sure if we lose the house the President will not be able to fire anyone without be accused of obstruction and he will have a very difficult time defending against that accusation. What are the optics going to look like when he doesn’t fire anybody with the republicans in the majority then suddenly when they he dems control the he house he starts firing people?

some of the comments suggests there are defenders of the Deep State posting on FR.

the writer Jonathan Lemire -
what he (Trump) sees as anti-Trump bias in the Justice Department...

no Lemire. it’s what MANY MILLIONS WORLDWIDE see as anti-Trump bias in the Justice Dept, the FBI, the FakeNewsMSM, etc.

Lemire: unnerving many in federal law enforcement and sparking fears...

how MANY in federal law inforcement did you speak to, Lemire, in order to make this claim? “sparking fears” among whom, Lemire. you?

remember Lemire:

17 Jul 2018: news.com.au: Journalist bravely confronts Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin
AS US president Donald Trump cowered in the corner alongside Russian president Vladimir Putin after their Helsinki summit, an unlikely hero was born.
by Julia Corderoy
But luckily for us, we had Jonathan Lemire. The White House correspondent for the Associated Press became the hero we all needed when he boldly went where Mr Trump would not.

At the joint press conference following Mr Trump and Mr Putin’s two-hour closed-door meeting in the Finnish capital, Helsinki, Lemire bluntly asked the US president whether he believed the Russian dictator over his own US intelligence officials...
“Who do you believe?” Lemire asked Mr Trump.
“Would you now, with the whole world watching, tell President Putin, would you denounce what happened in 2016, and would you warn him to never do it again?”...

But Lemire didn’t stop there. The brave journalist then asked Mr Putin — who is known for silencing the media and suppressing free speech — if he had any compromising material on Donald Trump.

Mr Putin was not amused.
“It’s hard to imagine greater nonsense,” he scoffed. “Please get this rubbish out of your heads.”
But while neither president seemed to appreciate Lemire, commentators on social media erupted with praise and admiration for the reporter, calling him “incredibly brave”, a “hero” and “fearless”.
