Republicans Have A Choice: Vote To Confirm Kavanaugh Or Get Slaughtered In November
The Federalist ^ | 9/24/2018 | Sean Davis

The rubber is about to meet the road for Senate Republicans. They have a simple choice: they can vote to confirm Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, thereby ending the baseless and unsubstantiated Democrat- and media-fueled smear campaign against him, or they can kiss House and Senate majorities goodbye for the next decade, if not longer.

[....]

A refusal to vote to confirm Kavanaugh in the face of a blatantly obvious Democrat smear campaign, orchestrated in concert with a compliant and obscenely partisan national media, will be strike three, and there will be no more at-bats. I have spent a career working in and covering politics, and I have never witnessed the kind of anger among rank-and-file GOP voters generated from a combination of the unsubstantiated Democrat attacks on Kavanaugh and the flaccid response of emasculated Republicans.

The stakes of the current battle over Kavanaugh are far bigger than a single Supreme Court seat, and Republican voters understand this, even if their elected lawmakers don’t. It’s bigger than Roe v. Wade, Obamacare, or Second Amendment rights. Democrats are trying to turn the rule of law on its head, to destroy the presumption of innocence — not for themselves, mind you, but for anyone who dares to oppose their totalitarian political agenda.

They seem to excel at getting slaughtered, actually. Almost like they’re proud of it.

This threat will not work against Jeff Flake. Since he is not coming back.

“Democrats are trying to turn the rule of law on its head, to destroy the presumption of innocence — not for themselves, mind you, but for anyone who dares to oppose their totalitarian political agenda.”

If one understands that the Dems are, in reality, a bunch of Leftists who have taken over the Democrat Party, and that Leftists will do or say ANYTHING to obtain and maintain power, then everything becomes clear.

The central lesson of the last 101 years (yes, since 1917) is that you either oppose them NOW, with everything you’ve got or, when they obtain the power that you left open to them, they will LITERALLY KILL YOU. Once they have the taste of power, they thirst for it like Gollum thirsts for The Ring (LOTR reference, for those unaware of it). We are living through an example of this - they had the taste of ultimate power in 2016, after 8 years of Obama and when they thought that Hillary was a guaranteed winner...and when Trump (really WE) took it from them, they went BERZERK (and still are).

Again, folks, either we defeat them - and make it overwhelming, like we and the Soviets ripped apart Germany after killing millions of their men and burning down most of their cities - or we are defeated BY them. With your shield or on it!!!

I don’t get it. How can getting slaughtered in November help our President? That means the rats take over. Am I missing something?

Right or Wrong is not the issue.

Defeating these lying ComDem Scums are the issue. The future of the nation depends up on it.

It must be done.

The Republicans on the committee have bigger things to think about than the election, namely the increase in wealth and permanent incomes if they scuttle Kavanaugh.

Exactly right! If the Republican Senate can't get a man of Kavanaugh's stature and reputation approved then why the hell do we need them? What good are they? Do we sill have obamacare? Do we have a wall?

When we NEED every MAGA voter to turn out for Republican candidates the Senate steps up to demonstrate for all to see what a waste of time it all is. Thanks Mitch. Thanks Grassley.

If these guys don't get their crap together soon who knows what the Senate will look like next January. The democrats have shown the world how unhinged and immoral they are. The freak show we've seen for the last couple of weeks should prove to all that democrats are not fit to govern...but then there's the Republicans...sheesh!

I have seen this sentiment expressed by many - much of whom I respect. I am pissed as anyone with what is going on. So if Collins and Murkowski vote no and scuttle the nomination, then we should not vote and give the Rats the power? So we should reward this BS? I can’t think of anything more stupid.

Consider that if Republicans gain at least 5 seats, Collins and Murkowski get marginalized and lose all of their impact. I believe that they would be happy to see the same distribution (or even 50-50) in the senate. They would prefer being in the minority rather than have a large Republican gain.

At the very least, there must be a vote and the career of any Republican not voting to confirm must end.

I think the opposite is true. They cave and let this guy twist for trying to do what the country asked him to do.

They push this through or they WILL lose the House and Senate.

There are tons of women looking at this and saying, “This isn’t good for us, at all.”

Republican voters understand this, even if their elected lawmakers don’t

Their elected representatives understand but their needs are not the needs and desires of the voters but, rather, heir financial security and aggrandizement.

Yep.

Make it clear to the Lying Leftists in the Democrat Party and the MSM that you’re not going to give one inch OR kiss your political careers goodbye. We Trumped your presidential candidates and we’ll Trump you in future primaries if you do not now stand and fight.

So, if Susan Collins and Jeff Flake don’t support him, that means Ted Cruz should be punished. Sound logic.

Collins and Murkowski either vote to confirm or conservatives must make it a priority to eliminate both.

If Flake any fantasies about a future in the GOP, he needs to be told they are finished if he doesn't vote to confirm.
