From Paul Sperry’s piece in the NY Post:

“This spring, Hillary Clinton’s former campaign press secretary Brian Fallon hired one of Feinstein’s top aides on the Judiciary Committee to help tank Trump’s Supreme Court picks from the outside. Together, he and Feinstein’s aide — former deputy general counsel Paige Herwig — launched a liberal nonprofit group called Demand Justice to lead the left’s attack on GOP nominees....”

“Blasey Ford’s lead attorney, Debra Katz, at the same time heads a leftist advocacy group funded by liberal megadonor George Soros, who also is funding Demand Justice, which has raised $5 million to sink Trump’s high court picks...”

https://nypost.com/2018/09/22/how-feinstein-is-conspiring-to-destroy-kavanaugh/

So Soros funded “Demand Justice” last spring no doubt got an email list of possible Kavenaugh classmates, and probably emailed each asking for rumors. Some responded with rumors, made up or not. Then they went digging, and set this whole thing up. Spent 6 days working on the drunk Peurto Rican anti-Trump social justice warrior.

If the FBI gets involved, they better arrest Soros.

But people will also be disgusted at the Democrats too. Could hurt them as much as the Republicans.

"...or they can kiss House and Senate majorities goodbye for the next decade..."

And that is just what the Repubs want - cushy jobs and never have to do any hard work. Simple when you're the minority party.

So, if Susan Collins and Jeff Flake don’t support him, that means Ted Cruz should be punished. Sound logic.

Yeah, well the problem is that a number of “Republicans” would be happy to get slaughtered in November. Flake, Collins, Murkowski, and others hiding in the weeds, are really Democrats masquerading as Republicans. If they think they can get away with gumming up the works (and still keep their political or lobbying careers viable), they will be happy to do so.

This is truly what it comes down to: A matter of whether Republicans in the House and Senate want to preserve their jobs -- and their legislative power -- more than they do not like the fact that President Trump does not act like a "normal politician".

What's sad is that what is best for our Republic -- for our Constitution -- does not appear to hold much sway into their political calculations.

Incorrect, Flake, Corker and Collins have a choice. Screw Trump and get slaughtered or vote yes. Flake is a Mccain clone. Flake might do what Mccain did on the obamacare vote. Mccain voted to screw Americans just to get back at Trump. Flake is certainly capable of this.

Mitch should force this immediately to a floor vote.
Time to call some bluffs.

Great article. I personally don’t care how many whores Avenatti, Soros, et al, have in their corral, to be pulled out one per day. They can make this into the biggest circus since PT Barnum. All I want is 50 votes on Oct 1, plus Pence. All this “Grassley shoulda, woulda coulda” is pointless. What we have is what we have. Full vote on Oct 1st, confirm by at least one vote. Anything less, as the author states, would be an “extinction level event”. Get it done or be extinct.

Sadly, I think Kavanaugh is toast at this point. They’ll just produce woman after woman.

The question should be, are Republican leaders like McConnell and Grassley in such a bubble that they are not aware of this?

Are they that dense or out of touch that they are blithely doddering along without any sense of urgency?

Democrats are trying to turn the rule of law on its head, to destroy the presumption of innocence — not for themselves, mind you, but for anyone who dares to oppose their totalitarian political agenda.
