Republican Party Favorability Highest in Seven Years
GALLUP.COM ^ | SEPTEMBER 24, 2018 | JIM NORMAN

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Forty-five percent of Americans now have a favorable view of the Republican Party, a nine-point gain from last September's 36%. It is the party's most positive image since it registered 47% in January 2011, shortly after taking control of the House in the 2010 midterm elections. Forty-four percent give the Democratic Party a favorable rating.

Line graph. Forty-five percent of Americans view the Republican Party favorably; 44% say the same of Democrats.

The parity in Republicans' and Democrats' favorable ratings marks a change from what has generally been the case since Barack Obama's election as president in November 2008. Republicans have usually been rated less positively than Democrats over this time, with the Republican Party's favorability rating for the last decade averaging 39%, compared with the Democratic Party's 44%.

Only one other time in the last decade has the Republican Party had a significantly higher score than the Democratic Party. That one exception came in November 2014, immediately after elections that saw Republicans capture control of the Senate and expand their majority in the House, when 42% rated the GOP favorably and 36% the Democrats.

Republicans Now More Likely to View Their Party Favorably

The overall increase in the favorable image of the Republican Party is a result of a jump in the positive views of Republicans, including independents who lean toward the party. The percentage of Republicans and leaners with favorable views of their party grew from 67% last September to 85% now.

Trump is doing all the heavy lifting. Meanwhile spineless wonders like Paul Ryan amend Charles Grassley are doing everything they can to pull down Republican voter enthusiasm.

That chart says that Obama really cratered dem polling numbers. Wow, 10 point drop, mostly in 2010.

It will go to 50% once Kavanaugh is confirmed.

Remember.....for Kavanaugh to sail thru, they only need about 5 iffy votes.

This isn’t about swaying the entire voting public or winning the battle with the slimy media. It’s just 5 measly votes.

Don’t lose sight of this. That’s why Grassley and the GOP have played this correctly. Collins, Murkowski, Flake, and a few others have been provided cover by the rational way this incredibly irrational circus has been handled.

Kavanaugh will on the bench by Friday.

At this point they have no choice. If they can’t take over at least one chamber of Congress in 2018, they’re in some real trouble as a party. They would be precluded from stopping Trump, and Trump is remaking the Republican Party into the party of the American working and middle classes, and the party of the heartland, of patriots, and solidifying it with peace and prosperity, potentially as has never been experienced before. They have to report that the Dem’s will take at least the House if not the Senate because anything else means total destruction.

Given all the advantages President Trump has provided us, I’m surprised the rating isn’t higher. But, this poll is from Gallup.

Interesting. McConnell just gave a good speech defending Judge Kavanaugh. We are flipping this to a rallying cry. Grassley needs to step aside and let Linda speak. Linda has some passion is the belly now.

Maybe that’s right re: Murkowski and Collins, but I don’t for a minute believe that Flake is looking for “cover” to approve Kavanaugh. He’s looking for cover to reject him.

You got that right!

We, who have been used to for, OH! so long, seeing Republicans snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory, are waiting with bated breath for them to do so one more time.

Stay Strong, Pubbies! Stay Strong!

If you blow this Justice Kavanaugh confirmation fight, STANDBY!

We are talking the “ash heap of History” here!

>>This isn’t about Kavanaugh alone. This is about the preservation of our system of justice.<<

I hope that’s what’s happening now. Many of the Dem leaders have made some incredible statements in recent days, statements that conflict with what most people consider justice in this country, even most liberals, I suspect.

The Left is finally going off the rails politically. We’ll see in November if the voters want to continue riding that train.
