Feinstein Plays Unbilled Role in Taiwan Dispute

WASHINGTON — Over the years, Sen. Dianne Feinstein has come to view herself as a China hand. And now, amid mounting tensions between China and Taiwan, the California Democrat is increasingly asserting herself behind the scenes as a would-be peacemaker.

In the process, Feinstein is playing on a rare set of personal relationships that she has nurtured with the three men now at the center of the standoff: the presidents of China, Taiwan and the United States. To each, Feinstein has been dispensing strong and unequivocal advice.

"I sometimes say that in my last life maybe I was Chinese," Feinstein said.

There are a few different ways of coding to size images - this is the one I use. I first try sizing it around 300 or 400 and then based on how it looks, increase or decrease the numbers. I usually change the size in increments of 100 (i.e., 300, 400, 500) but you can pick numbers in between.

Did she really? Was that at the time China took one of our jets, crew and all, then sent it back in pieces? They'd be asking for war with a President like Trump who has Pompeo and Bolton, Kelly and Mattis as his top advisers.

She did. GWB didn’t apologize, even though the Chinese wanted one as they had lost a Jet and pilot. The reconnaissance plane had to land due to the damage from the jet. They kept the plane for a while (I can’t remember how long). DiFi said something to the effect that she was apologizing for the whole country. This was early in the first GWB Admin. We know what a mess that whole fiasco was, with the AlGore mess, then Jumpin Jim Jeffords, then 9/11 happened and it was a whole new ballgame. MOST INTELLIGENT PEOPLE KNEW DIFI WAS JUST TRYING TO PROTECT HER AND HER HUSBAND’S CHINESE INTERESTS.

Thanks for the timeliine, That incident was like the Pueblo. Interesting to watch UN speech by our President today and wonder what will happen on his watch and how he'll respond? Frankly, I believe N.Korea already found out when they had that “earthquake” which killed their nuke scientists.
