Women are still more likely to view the Democrats favorably than they are Republicans, but the difference has contracted. A year ago, 35 percent of women said they viewed Republicans favorably. Democrats had a 14 point advantage, with 49 percent viewing the party favorably.
In the latest poll, the GOP favorability rating rose to 40 percent. The Democrat favorability fell by one point. That leaves Democrats with just an 8 point advantage.
Democrats have completely lost their advantage with American men. A year ago, 40 percent of men viewed the Democrats favorably, while just 37 percent viewed the GOP favorably.
Now Republicans are in favor with 50 percent of men. Favorability toward Democrats climbed one point to 41 percent, giving the Republicans a 9 point advantage.
Republicans also now enjoy an advantage with middle-class voters. A year ago, Democrats led Republicans 46 to 36 among voters earning $30,000 and $74,999 annual. Now Republicans have the lead, 49 to 45.
The Democrats still lead, however, among low-income Americans and the wealthy. But even here the advantage is smaller. Among low-income Americans, Democrats now enjoy an 11 point advantage versus 12 percent a year ago. Among wealthy Americans, the Democrat advantage has contracted to 7 points from 10.

Low-information people who have been voting Democrat because their parents voted Democrat and their grandparents voted Democrat are finally paying attention and getting a good look at what the party has become.
Imagine that, trashing demographic groups makes them not support you in future elections.

Unless your SIL is Hasidic, she most likely falls into the classic New York "Self-Loathing" Jew. The kind that feel being Jewish is having lox on your bagel and cream cheese and going to Temple for "Kol Nidre" (Yom Kippur evening service), then going out for coffee and dessert. Otherwise, they distance themselves from the real religion, because that stuff is "too Jewish".
Most of the SLJs that I've met, be they in New York, Boston or San Francisco come from a long line of Democrat voters for no other reason (at least now) because their parents and grandparents voted that way, so they must know what they are doing!
With their silly-ass behavior during this whole Kavanaugh thing, middle America is seeing just what a-holes the democrats truly are.
And the mid-terms are coming.
All the Republicans have to do is vote for Kavanaugh, and they will put Democrats out into the political desert for the next 40 years!

I have learned to not take polls too seriously. but, this is not too surprising and it does seem as though it is rational. How any sane person could look upon the Democrat party favorably shows no common sense.
To someone [I'm talking sellout GOPeer] who wants to let the Democrats run the whole show while just sitting back and taking his cut, what is the upside here? I'm not seeing it frankly.

That’s right. The Dems are showing their true, ugly, lunatic colors and normal, decent people don’t like it.
They havent had the middle class for some time and they wont get it 2018 and beyond.
